Chris Cook, CB from Virginia.

I have no clue who that is.

Would have preferred Mays or Cody

Apparently the Vikings were going to take Kyle Wilson with the 30th pick and even were on the phone with him, but then the Jets took him with the 29th pick. So our first pick makes sense in that we moved down and still took a CB.

The Clausen freefall continues this is great television.

Of course the Ravens took Sergio Kindle. Such a typical Ravens pick. I already regret the Vikings not taking him.

Wooo The Vikings moved up and took Toby Gerhart. Now we got a bruiser to back up AP. I like it.

colt mccoy fell a long ways also. Hoping Bruce Campbell will fall to us, but think we have to trade up to get him.

WTF? I am ok with Cook and Gerhart... but I think we should have traded up for some of those guys. There was a ton of talent in the second round. We need a few quality players from this draft, not a ton of picks.

The Ravens got Kindle AND Cody. :(
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

The Clausen and McCoy freefalls were awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed.

Yea the Ravens get those type of guys EVERY YEAR somehow. Just because the Ravens drafted them, you know they're for sure going to be good.

I would have loved to have either of those guys.

What the hell happened to our 3rd round pick? Did we have to trade it to move up for Gerhart or what?

I agree w/ Polars, Bruce Campbell would be a great pick at this point. We should grab him. He's a project, but if he can start a year from now, he can get rid of Bryant Piece-of-Shit McKinnie once and for all. He's sooo worthless. Even if he doesn't pan out, we need some backup lineman either way.

Cook looks like he could be decent. Has good size. Here are ranks, vitals, and a little analysis for all the picks:

Man, Mays, Kindle, and Cody all have great rankings. Now I'm pissed we didn't get at least ONE of them!

Yep, we gave up our second and third round picks to move up 11 spots for Gerhart:

About Cook:
Cook missed the 2008 season because of academic issues. He also only managed to do seven reps of 225 pounds on the bench press at the NFL Combine in February, the second-lowest total among defensive backs.

Ughghghghg. I definitely would have rather had one of those other 3 guys now. :(

I can bench 7 times at 225 pounds in my sleep. They should have drafted me. :silly:

Yea Cook could be good.

But check this out: Winfield, Griffin, Asher Allen (who we took in the 2nd round last year right?), Benny Sapp, Lito Sheppard.

Even if you assume Griffin isn't at 100% for half the season and Winfield misses a game here and there because of injury, we're still better off at CB than we are at safety.

Madieu Williams is truly awful, and Tyrell Johnson isn't much better. I love Jamarca Sanford, but he never got the chance to start all year and he might seriously be crazy. He's a 15-yard penalty just waiting to happen on every single play.

We should have taken Mays. He's doesn't exactly have a lot of football skills, but he's a freak athlete. He could probably even play OLB in the 4-3 if he doesn't pan out at safety if he puts on some more muscle. High risk, high reward.

Doesn't really make sense to me, unless we plan on moving Winfield to safety, which could happen.

Yeah, I really wanted Mays. He was like a top 10 pick at one point. Our safeties are sooooo terrible. Definitely the weakest spot on our team. Geeez.

At least Winfield should be able to play some safety in his old(er) age. That's not a terrible option. Kinda like a better tackling Darren Sharper (hopefully.)

I don't know how long he could play safety without getting hurt. He's so tiny. He makes Bob Sanders look like Andre the Giant.

All Darren Sharper does is ballhawk and create turnovers. Winfield is a run stuffer/cover guy. He almost never gets interceptions. Sharper is a lot bigger than Winfield too.
