So who do we take??? None of the mocks I've seen so far have us taking a QB. :(

Is Gabbert really gonna go #1 overall? Good grief, that would be absurd!

Draft notebook: Taking stock of QB prospects and lack of senior talent
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I think a QB goes number 1 just because Riveria is going to want his own young qb he can groom to become his guy. AS for the vikings i seriously don't think we will get a qb to fall down to us so we should look towards cb or oline. Mock drafts have us taking a defensive end but i think robison or the usc guy are serviceable enough to be on the line without wasting our 1st round pick on one.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I guess I'm ok with a stud CB, but a defensive end would be a waste at #12.

What happened to Everson Griffen? I know we got him ridiculously low (like 100th pick?) because of character issues. Since I hope we don;t resign Ray Edwards it would be good to see him in the rotation if Robison is not up to the task.

If we can't get Prince Amukamara or Patrick Peterson (actually this one is even as high as #3 in some mocks) then we should drop the CB idea with the draft.

QB or O-line, no other way.

There are too many QB needy teams ahead of us and not enough QBs. We should just take best player available within the positions we need. I'd love to get Prince Amukamara he's gonna be a beast. The best and most obvious solution though would probably would to be to take a stud o-lineman which we need desperately.

If we get McDaniels as our OC and trade for Orton that would hold us over for a couple of years and we can continue to develop Webb or whatever.

He was playing a bit more towards the end of the year. The problem for him is that the Vikings are really deep on the d-line. We have like 7 or 8 guys who are better than him right now.

yeah Griffen was the guy i was talking about from USC. No one gives Robison any credit i always thought he was better than Edwards so i enjoy seeing Edwards leave. I also agree with Roundhouse about Amukamara. If he somehow falls to us theres no question thats who we take. I'm growing on Locker as well so of the 4 qbs i want him to fall to us. Other than that if Amukamara or Locker are gone i say we trade down to where we can get an Oline since none are good enough to be drafted at 12. Look to draft Dalton in the 2nd round for qb.

That works for me. McDaniels + Orton + Prince would be a fantastic start to our new team under Leslie. I can live with Orton + Webb + other lower drafted QB for a year or two or whatever.

Here's another Mock Draft. At least it has us taking Ryan Mallett:

2011 NFL Mock Draft: Cam Newton a good fit for Redskins at No. 10

I guess most guys making those mocks still didn;t get over Luck staying in college. I am inclined to believe that without Luck in the draft Carolina will stay with Jimmy Clausen at QB and bolster the defense with Bowers or Fairley. And where the hell is Locker in that mock, lol?

I know...where is Jake Locker, he nice. Maybe, we could get him in the 2nd round?? That would be sweet.

Vikings QBs to be looking at going into the draft

1. Jake Locker
2. Andy Dalton

Gabbert, Newton, and Mallet will all be taken before we pick and maybe Locker. Which is where Dalton comes into the picture. Going to be a solid 2nd round pick. TCU!
