DFS - I think you are spot on...he saw this and knew in advance. No other explanation. Kind of sad. More sad is that the Adelman hiring made me happier than seeing my my first boob in what I believe was 8th grade.

Related note(s) - the 'source' comment is true. As much of a douche as he is, SnP's insider insight is always interesting but it has almost always been woefully anti-Kahn/Taylor (while always praising team president Chris Wright who conveniently granted Canis an interview last year) and nearly always blatantly incorrect. He even used to slobber Kahn's balls, but then it became obvious Kahn put them on and never followed up on an interview request, and then the blind bashing began. I am firmly convinced his sources are VIP season ticket holders and reporters (who know very little, or are put on/made to believe they know what's going on). The only one who knows what is up is Woj, but it has to be noted that he has the ear of the agent world...which uses the media as a platform for personal gain and rarely reports super factual information on an anecdotal level (Woj echoed the 'no coach will ever go to Minny' rhetoric)

It started with the Rubio stuff this past winter ("he will NEVER play here"). I bought into that to an extent even though I had an actual legitimate 'source' tell me in December that Rubio would 'definitely' come and play here, but the greater concern is he 'just isn't any good,' or good enough to make a dramatic, star-level impact. Take it for what it's worth.

It culminated when SnP claimed no legit coach would ever come here after the Rambis stuff (which everyone overreacted to, might I add....as if there was zero communication between the parties involved...I mean, HELLO maybe they were negotiating a freaking buyout, everybody find your loved ones the world is ending). Now the waiting game crap is looking like one of the largest blessings this franchise has seen in the past 16 years.

/bum-like rambling

You, are the man. Thanks for that perspective. The ol' "man's search for significance" syndrome. When you aren't sh*t at work, you ain't sh*t at home, you have few friends, and your resulting surplus of time is devoted to armchair GMing in your man cave, the result is a man finally finding a reason for a sense of self-worth.

Awesome DFS, I can't wait to see how that goes. I am assuming you are correct and you'll be banned again, immediately.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Come on ya'll, it ain't fair to put all this on McNabb. If 1) Berrian decides to play football and not drop passes or run around in circles with his head down, 2) Our line doesn't have the worst ranking by far of any other team, and 3) the offense isn't the most embarrassingly bad crap ever, then McNabb easily has 100-150 yards. I'm not saying he played well. But the offense restricted him, he ran around trying not to get sacked, and his best receiver is 5'9.

McNabb has been a lightening rod nationally because of the stat line, but locally I think there has been perspective. I've heard at least as much criticism of the predictable play calling and the offensive line as McNabb.

Yeah, I hope it doesn't seem like I'm doing that. Over at PJD these points have been discussed thoroughly. It's obviously not all McNabb's fault that our team is so terrible. We really need an O-line. Would help AP which in turn would help McNabb and the WR's stretch the field. Our line is brutal.

Yea it's not all McNabb's fault, but even with terrible playcalling, bad receivers and line, 39 passing yards is still a huge embarrassment. Especially in this day and age where Tom Brady is throwing for 500 yards and a rookie just threw for over 400 yards in his first game.

39 YARDS!!!

Yeah 39 yards is astoundingly low. Still, one game does not a season make. Let's see what happens this week. And our O line is turrrible - this surely does not help McNabb or APs cause. And the fact that B-Twice continues to see the field year after year may be the biggest joke in the league (aside from Bennie Sapp getting cut the week after his first game with every team he joins).

As for S&P...I am once again speechless. Well done Daddy, for the post, College Wolf, for the link, and Wally, for the spot on analysis.

Benny Sapp was the scapegoat. Other guys in the Dolphins secondary played way worse than he did. Their safety was much more at fault for Welker's TD than Sapp was. And he was the one that tipped that pass from Brady that got picked off.

Our secondary is so shytty that we should sign Benny Sapp. He's still better than some of our guys. Can he play Safety for us maybe?

He's definitely an upgrade over Asher Allen. But I guess pretty much anybody is an upgrade over him.

When I see McNabb on the sideline and think back to his quotes I personally don't think he is upset with what has happened. He wants to be in the NFL and make money but I think he knows his real contributions are behind him. He doesn't seem to want to deal with the criticism.

This signing could really end up working out perfectly for both the team and him.

Team: Signing McNabb showed the vets that they care and it gave them extra time to get Ponder ready. And he stunk enough to get Ponder in with plenty of time to get him a season's worth of learning (and the team enough time to evaluate what they have).

McNabb: He no longer has the skill to start, but given that he'll only play a few games team will likely think of him as a solid backup option if he plays the nice guy here in MN for the rest of the year. $3ma year until he is 40 if he plays it right.
