He had a 'girlfriend" in California who died of leukemia on the same day his grandmother died. Except he made the whole thing up with the help of some guy he knows in Calif. Man that's messed up. If you read the Deadspin article it's pretty clear he was in on it. He's trying to play it off like he was tricked. Apparently he did it for self promotion.

I don't care to follow this ridiculous nonsense at all, and really could care less. It's hard enough worrying about my own spouse, let alone someone else's fake girlfriend...

Well it turns out Manti probably isn't a nefarious con man, just the most idiotic and naive person on earth. He did lie to his parents about meeting her and lied to the media and everyone else about a billion times, but wasn't in on the hoax.

Man, I really hope the Vikings don't draft him. I would not want this guy on my team. Not only because of this, but watching the Nat'l Championship game it's pretty clear that he's way overrated.
