I'm a Notre Dame fan in case you can't tell from all the posts...I think the fair-weather fan issue applies to more than just the Vikings and Irish. It's always easier to cheer for a winner!

You want to see true fans?? Go to a Nebraska game. Parking spots around the stadium (for tailgating) are passed down among families,so unless you know someone don't plan on parking or partying anywhere near the stadium. That's how into it they are. I HATE Nebraska football, but you've gotten respect their dedication.

I respect that you are still a fan of the Irish despite their troubles this season that seem to be around the corner. Although anyone who is a T'Wolves fan is already considered to be on the opposite end of the fair weather fan spectrum.

SO TRUE!! I would doubt anyone on this board can be labeled a fair-weather fan!

Yeah, the Irish will be VERY LUCKY to have a winning season this year. I'm predicting 5-7 for the year but it could easily be worse. I can't imagine what'll happen in South Bend if the Irish lose to Navy for the first time in almost 50 years! That would be astounding but yet its sooo plausible.
