Gentlemen, allow me to present triple gold medallist Stephanie Rice.

:woohoo:
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

WOW WHAT A HISTORIC NIGHT OF SPORT!

Dara Torres! Phelps! Bolt! WOW!

You will never see anything combined like tonight ever again. 8 gold medals and the fasted 100M dash EVER run in history.

Bolt can say he's the fastest man EVER in history. That is awesome.

HOWL to AusWolf & Stephanie Rice.

More things that I have loved from the recent days of Olympics:

- The men's 100 - BOLT. UNREAL.
- Phelps fingertip victory was probably the most amazing thing I have seen all Olympics. How he did the whole arm thrust thing that much faster than the Croatian gliding a few inches to the victory is beyond me.
- The Reggae Beatdown last night in the women's 100 was pretty crazy.
- Lagat missing the 1,500 finals by .02 seconds blows my mind. He was the favorite to win the damn thing! I bet that tall skinny Kenyan dude wins.
- The gymnastics individual events have been pretty solid.
- Bella K. going off last night about my girl Alicia getting screwed into 4th place in the vault was CLASSIC. And I do think he has a point. The Chinese chick FALLS - doesn't even land - on one of two vaults, and she still gets a medal?!?!? no way.

I concur. What a travesty! I was thinking the same exact thing while watching...

yeah, but the Chinese girl's first vault was spectacular and immaculate. The Us girls jumps were solid, not spectacular. Who won by the way?

Congratulations to Australia on their medal count of 33 as of this morning! I did not realize until AusWolf pointed it out how few people actually live down under. 20 million people is not a lot compared to the other top medal winners. In comparison, Canada has 33 million people living in it and has only won 15 medals. It just goes to show that it is not the number of people to pull talant from but the desire of those people you have to win. If it was a numbers game China would win everything all the time.

And I think we finished on 46.

Always punch above our weight.

Some of my highlights:

1. Usain Bolt. Enough said.

2. The German weightlifter Mathias Steiner winning gold. Every time I see him celebrate after that final lift I nearly cry. His wife passed away a year ago - on the dias he pulled out a photo of her. Magic stuff.

3. Matthew Mitcham - young Australian diver who gave it away three years ago and only began training again 18 months ago. China had won every individual gold diving medal to date. Mitcham was in second and needed a miracle to take gold. He then nailed a dive which received the highest score in Olympic history. In Olympic History. I. Shit. You. Not.

4. Kenenisa Bekele in the Men's 5000m. Best middle distance runner ever. A performance of staggering brilliance.

Wow... I saw Matthew Mitcham win the gold as it happened! That was incredible, props to him. He needed to average 9.5's or something like that on his final dive and he pulled off four 10's (I believe) in an amazing and almost perfect dive. Great TV right there. Way to go.

Also, props to Australia and their medal count. They are usually towards the top of the overall medals, which is amazing considering the population of their country!
