That game was rediculous. Especially the second quarter. It was like a one-sided all star game. Every possession for the USA was a dunk. Dwight Howard even had a showboat time all by himself on a fast break. I especially liked the Tayshaun Prince dunk, Corey Brewer will be dunking like that soon. The USA team was up at halftime 35-17 and won the game 118-81 to finish the FIBA America's 10-0 with one game not counting because that team didn't finish in the top 8. They dominated every game though.

Yeah... those games were good to see. I was impressed with their defense, especially Kobe Bryant. I hope everyone is not getting too high on them though, as the Olympics will be a completly different ball game.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Yep, I was also impressed by Team USA, dominating this tournament although against inferior competition and still showing some flaws defending the pick and roll good international teams like to play as often as EVERY TIME.

The way they play, the guys they send to play...finaly there seems to be some respect for international competition within the U.S. ;) !

By the way: Is it just me getting the impression that the guy Kobe was defending was always scoring in the mid 20s? How can is that supposed to be \"good defence\"?

Kobe did a great job of moving out of the way so that the interior defense could take over.

I agree, Coach K sure has Team USA playing a lot better than in the past. With a few roster changes the USA should be primed for Gold in 2008!

I don't know if this was really such a great achievement by the coaching staff, besides finally replacing the fantasy team of athletic swingmen and 2nd-tier superstars the US used to call \"Dream Teams\" (there will be only one!) with a selected combination of stars, shooters and hustle players along with finally bringing some true PGs to the battlefield.

But nonetheless, I do have Team USA on my personal radar again...as one of the favorites to win the Gold Medal in Beijing. But this won't be as easy as crushing the depleted temas of Brazil and Argentina once they will send their best players to the Olympics and European powerhouses like Greece and Spain or from the former Soviet Union will also come into play.

But to be honest: I do also think that they have every chance to reclaim Olympic Gold next year, if they keep the core of this team of superstars and roleplayers together.

I agree, but I think that it will still be an easy gold to obtain for Team USA. If they play as good together as they have. The chemistry of that team is just incredible. That no look pass to Stat from Kobe was text book.
