Hahahahahaha and I'm not even remotely surprised.

I saw this coming ten miles away. He's so broken down.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

From the article:
Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in 2003, lawyers with knowledge of the results told The New York Times.

It is weird how the names keep slowly leaking out.

Yea that explains a lot. Like why he sucks so bad.

The only player that would surprise me is Ken Griffey Jr. I'm 99% certain he never used roids.
Last Edit: 3 years 9 months ago by roundhouse.

The only two "stars" of my lifetime that would surprise me testing positive for steroids are Griffey Jr. and Greg Maddux. At this point, as far as I am concerned everyone else is fair game.

Torii Hunter would surprise me too.

PS - I called it a long time ago, saying Bonds was being scapegoated. He was just the best of the cheaters, but almost all the top doggs were doping.

How much higher would Torii's standing in the league over the course of the last decade be if not for steroids. It was always a pain in our side having a power hitter who was hitting for 80's power when everyone else had a guys hitting 50 HRs.

Torii seems to be a main guy the media goes to because they trust that he wasn't doing 'roids (even when it isn't his buddy Ortiz getting busted). People trust him and Grif Jr. Personally I trust Torii way more than Griffey because you never know how down Griffey got about those injuries. Really good people can to bad things when they feel they are in a corner. Also as Steve McNair showed us, it is impossible for us to know who really has integrity.

That's a good point, I guess I didn't really consider that.

Integrety is measured by what we do when no one is looking. Thats what makes it hard to identify. But when someone always lives a life of integrety it will eventually be known by all who love and know you. People who truly have integrity do not live it for recognition but rather because of a higher calling.

This whole issue is one reason I strongly believe the whole roids era of baseball needs to have at least some kind of recall on records.
Granted, that will never happen to remove records for HR's in a season, etc.
We will be lucky if they even agree to put an asterik beside them. I see that as a minimum.
I'd like to see a ban from the hall of fame and removal of records.

Unfortunately that would be pretty much impossible. They will never figure out all the players that used steroids. And it wasn't just hitters, lots of pitchers used too, I would be willing to guess.

Which is why you have to do the asterik and move on.
In cases where it is proven like Bonds/Clemens, all his stats should be removed from the official records.

Rob

And the other 50% of guys who did it but were busted get to move up a notch.

Agreed. Which is why removing records is a slippery slope and completely infeasible.
