I am sure you have all heard all the stuff about the Big 11en and Pac 10 expansion, as well as what will happen with Texas, ND, and the Big East (among other schools.)

Craziness is ensuing. The Real Shaq has a good take on the situation. I commented on the article that I liked scenario #3 and then #4:

http://therealshaq.com/articles/other-sports/big-10-expansion-option-that-could-preseve-traditional-rivalries.html

P.S. I find it funny/sad/ridiculous that all this expansion stuff is CLEARLY ALL ABOUT THE MONEY for the suits and people in charge of these organizations, yet the student-athletes get destroyed if they do anything so much as take a free pair of shoes or get a free meal. What a complete joke. Just pay the student-athletes and end the charade...
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

they are paying some of the student-athletes when they give them full ride scholarships but i know that only a select few are actually given those so i agree that instead of keeping all this money to themselves it should be going to the guys that have earned that money. Wonder what they would do if 95% of Student-Athletes would decide not to play and then see what happens. Problem is if they do this it hurts their future more than it hurts the school.

I had that exact same idea to take on Nebraska, Mizzou, Iowa St., Kansas, & Kansas St. The entire Midwest would be in the Big 10 territory & basketball would be off the heezy with Kansas.

Probably would never happen though. Nobody wants Iowa St. or Kansas St from a money standpoint.

I want a super "Big 18en" with additions of Pittsburgh, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Rutgers, Syracuse, Kansas, and Missouri.

:woohoo: :silly:

That would rock. The basketball would be off the chain.

It has begun.

Colorado officially joined the Pac 10.

The Chicago Tribune has an article that says that Nebraska to the Big 10 is pretty much a done deal. It looks like the Big 10 might go after Kansas next. That would be awesome.

Texas A&M has been in talks with the SEC and they might be interested in Missouri as well Missouri could also go Big 10 if they want them.

It looks like Notre Dame is going to stay independant, because the Big East looks like it will stay intact.

...or nothing else happens besides Colorado and Nebraska leaving and the Big 12 replaces them with TCU and someone else.

Man, that would be awesome if the Big 12en got Kansas. Heck, I'd take Missouri too just to make the teams even (if ND refuses to join.)

If The Big 12 loses Kansas and Missouri on top of COL/NEB, they will be done. The Texas teams won't stick around after that. I think it will be the Pac 16.

Craziness...

Yea Nebraska leaving might be enough alone to kill the Big 12 so if one more team leaves then it's done for.

Boise State has left the WAC for the Mountain West.

It looks likes Texas, TT, Oklahoma, and Ok St. are all going to the PAC 10.

Texas A&M is deciding between the PAC10 and SEC.

Looks like Texas A&M will go to the SEC if they can. They don't want to go to the Pac 10 at all.

Now they are saying the Big 12 might just invite teams as needed to get to 10 teams and remain together? I heard that they would give a special deal to Texas where they could have their own tv station in TX, and keep the money. Under that scenario, it's the way Texas can get the most money so I could see them not joining the Pac 10 and doing that instead. The Texas teams in the Pac 10 would be stupid imo.

Kansas better pray to god that the Big 12 stays together, or they are absolutely screwed. Can you imagine their basketball program as a mid-major? Leaving a BCS conference would hurt the future of their basketball sooooo much as well, which would be a shame.

I feel sorry for Kansas K-St and the other original Big 8 teams that get shat on by Texas all the time. This is all Texas' fault from the beginning with their greed and thinking they are the center of the universe. Nebraska couldn't take anymore of it and left.

I'd think that if the Big 12 completely falls apart the Big 10 would invite Kansas and K-St. Iowa St. and Missouri would be the ones left out in the cold.

Nah, we'd invite Missouri for sure. Their football is on the rise and their basketball has always been solid. Plus they could be a pretty decent sized market. I'd guess we'd also probably invite Kansas State. Either way, Iowa St. is definitely getting left out in the cold for sure.

Crazy... I guess all this was for naught then. Only team really that is left to join the Big 12en is Notre Dame, and who knows if they will ever make the move. They should, as they aren't the great dynasty that they think they were/used to be.

Notre Dame has a gravy situation right now with independant football status. They get to schedule whatever games they want and have their own TV contract with NBC.

They will only join the Big 10 if they are forced to by the demise of the Big East.
