Yea for Harris and Young. Harris sucks, oh well.

I guess I didn't mind trading Garza simply because we always seem to come up with pitchers from our system. We always have 2 to 3 guys we could plug in. At least at the time we did. The hitting aspect of the game has ALWAYS been our weak spot!!! We knew that and took a chance. Young was a former #1 pick with a lot of power potential. Now that he's finally coming around(hope I don't jinx this)and batting 300 with HR's popping off his bat it's a fair trade. Garza's been good, he's no STAR though. I think it's what both TEAMS were hoping, they wanted a starting pitcher and we wanted to add power to our lineup.

Garza has been a stud ever since we traded him. Like Pants said, there's no way they'd trade back.

Hopefully Delmon can keep it up, we definitely need him hitting like this.

Plus it is hard to say ALWAYS when it isn't true right now. Blackburn and Slowey have been horrific.

Booooo W-L record is one of the worst/most overrated stats in the game of baseball.

He clearly has top 3 staff stuff.

His WHIP and ERA+ have been very good.

He is a good pitcher and better than most of the crap we have now.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

He has never been on a bad team so yea it does matter CW!!!!! The fact he might be our 3rd or 4th starter now is irrelevant, we made the trade what 2 years ago!!! And for the Matt Capps trade come on...Your ignorant to the game of baseball the Twins play if you really don't like the move. We succeed when our bullpen delivers.

Tough to say we'd have the same TEAM if we didn't make that trade but can you imagine what could have/would have happen when Morneau got hurt this year??? Especially how Mauer was batting this 1st half of the season. Bartlett our SS. No thanks. We'd be 20 games back right now!!! The trade was great for both TEAMS I think!!!

I think you are overreacting to Young's recent hot strike. His defense has been terrible his entire career, and before this hot streak you couldn't have given him away to anyone.

Capps is basically Rauch. The only reason anyone knows who he is, is because he got saves on crappy Pirates and Nationals teams. Saves and W-L record are the two most overrated stats there are for pitchers.

My brother hated the Delmon for Garza deal so I've got some experience trying to justify it. In reguards to his recent hitting streak, yeah its helped but he has over 80 rbi so I believe the whole year hes played well. His D in the field is suspect, can't argue that. Although he has looked better as of late.

Not trying to sound like I know X amount about baseball because I really don't. Just from what I've witnessed over the years watching Twins baseball when we hit we win. We are among the top teams every year in D with fewest errors. We are usually among the league leaders in bullpen saves and ERA. Last year we were among leaders in hits with runners in scoring position. I mean the list goes on. What we don't have is HR hitting. And that's what I believe we saw in Young in the first place.;)

When Rauch takes the mound he makes me nervous, a feeling I haven't had in so long I just can't stand it. Having Nathan is such a luxury I forgot how lucky we were. At least Capps gives us another option at the least. We have Mauer who cares what we do with any back-ups. Mauer and Butera are just fine. Plus we still have Morales:)

All good points.

Well I certainly won't argue much further, because we really need to wait and see with these trades. Delmon is Young. Let's hope he can keep it up and this isn't just a hot streak. He certainly has the potential to be a player like this... he was the #1 overall pick after all.

Whoa whoa whoa.

You lost me right there. Rauch made you nervous that was nothing compared to Nathan when we were playing good teams. He blew like 5 games against the yankees last year including the playoffs and thats not including his career against the yankees!! Can't win a world series when the guy supposed to close the game can't shut the door on the best team in baseball. Nathan is horrible when he's in a pressure situation. Not to mention he struggles to get 3 outs in his normal saves. He may be the best closer we've ever had but he is no where near a lock to get a save when the twins play high caliber teams. Nathan should be out the door when he's still got value because the choke artist is 36 years old and will be coming off of Tommy John surgery. Time to get his 12 million off the books and trade his choking ass while we can.

Yeah, Nathan is awesome typically... but he does tend to choke under pressure. :S

I can see him coming back to pitch for us again as a reliever, but I don't think it will be as our closer. At least, I hope not. Plus his salary is huge.
