I watched the game. Mario Gomez is amazing. Hate Bayern though. It's one of three teams that I hate the most in European football.

But in this particular game I routed for Bayern, because if Basel was eliminated, then the Danish champions in 2013, with almost 100 percent certainty, will automatically qualify for the Champions League. That is huge!

I know this may doesn't interest you at all, but it's a good night for me personally, so I have to declare it...

My hometown Soccer club just kicked out the Tottenham Hotspurs out of the Quarter-finales of the UEFA-Cup (2nd highest ranked contest, with a lot of big clubs playing there) and is heading now forward to the semi-final (where they could meet Chelsea, Galatasaray or Benfica).

Considering that they had kicked out already Zenit St. Petersburg in the last round (a club with a current value of 284 mio Dollars) and now Totenham (360 mio Dollars worth) as they are officially only 55 mio worth; or in other terms: For club that has a total budget of 64,5 mio Dollars to win in two deciding games against a club which trade budget alone is right now 'bout 77 mio, is pretty amazing....
This is the biggest triumph in club history & only a couple of Swiss club ever managed it, to enter a semi-final of an international tournament (YB 1959, GC 1978, FCZ 1964, 1977).
Not to mention, that it's quite a relieve, after the damaging out last year against Bayern (after the big win against ManU) & also as recompensation for the tragical out in the quarterfinals of the Uefa-Cup against Middlesborough in 2006.
