What is the best conference/league in the NBA, NFL, and MLB: The West, The AL, or the AFC? Although the West is as dominant as ever, I think I got go with the American League.

The Yankees, Red Sox, Tigers, Indians, Twins, Mariners, and Angels are all playoff worthy. They put the NL to shame. The thing that tips the scale for me as opposed to the West is that fact that in the AL there is 7 teams (maybe more this year) fighting for 4 playoff spots.

And besides St. Louis winning the WS 2 years ago was a fluke, only the Tigers could screw that up.

Nothing really to debate. Or... were you talking about which of the above three is the most dominant compared to each other? If I had to pick, I'd say the \"West\" barely nudges out the \"AL.\" Especially considering there will probably be a Western Conference team that could have 50 wins and NOT make the playoffs. That's some serious depth right there.

The Cardinals got lucky. Also, I don't even know the conferences in Hockey... luckily no one gives two shyts about it.

#1 AFC is the best hands down. It was a tad fluky on the Giants winning the Superbowl...but it was a good story...

#2 The American League is dominant...but I would not say the Twins are playoff worthy...

#3 The Western Conference NBA - However the power is beginning to switch and in 3 - 5 years the power will be back in the East...

It must be too close to call, we all answered differently..

You know whats funny? Think about this. It seems like whenever one conference seems waaaaaaaaay better than the other, the other conference will end up winning the championship on a somewhat frequent basis.

Just think back to the last few years...

MLB - 2006 - The AL is supposedly >>>> the NL. A few \"really good\" AL teams don't make the playoffs, while a losing team makes the NL playoffs. And then St. Louis beat Detroit to win the champoinship.

NFL - 2008 - The AFC supposedly has the 2 best teams and about 7 of the top 9. Then the Giants beat New England to win the title.

NBA - 2004 - The top 4 teams are supposedly in the Western Conference (MN, Sac, SA, LA). Everyone picked LA to win the finals in 4 or 5 games. And then Detroit wins the series 4-1.

Isn't that crazy? I think it is. Gotta love sports.
