Feel free to post any funny/interesting wagers you may make. Also, there are tons and tons and tons of prop bets, if you are into that.

Currently the line is Pittsburgh -7.

Personally, I am leaning towards Pittsburgh to cover, but haven't decided yet. The thing that sucks is that the line crossed the magical 7 point barrier, which really hampers things. Anything under 7 and I would have taken Pittsburgh for sure. Now... I dunno yet.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I can't believe how upset I still am about the putrid Cardinals team that the Vikings slaughtered being the Superbowl. I just can't get over it.

I'd take the Steelers. My feeling is that Cardinals have gotten where they are on the back to Larry Fitz putting together an all time great postseason at the WR position. I think given the two weeks the Steelers will figure out how to keep him covered AND they will get better pressure on Warner than NYG and Eagles.

I thought the Eagles would figure out how to cover him too... I was wrong then but I don't think I'll be wrong now.

Steelers 29
Cardinals 18

The Steelers manage to tie themselves for being the winner in the least interesting superbowl ever... (it was Steelers versus Seahawks that held that crown).

Completely agree with you there. I'm not super excited for this Superbowl, but I do look forward to it, much like every season.

If EVERYTHING goes right for Arizona, I could see them making it a close game. But like you said, I think the Steelers/Tomlin will gameplan excellently the next two weeks; and should be able to shut them down. Plus, their defense should have a field day. If they can pressure Warner this game won't even be close.

Remember when it was if you lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers you would not make the superbowl. Now it is if you get your ass kicked by the Vikes you win the Superbowl (my prediction Cards). Last year the Vikes killed the G-Men, this year they killed the redbirds. Either way I am about as excited about this Superbowl as getting my prostate checked for cancer (maybe there will be hockey on tv).

I HATE this years Superbowl.
Because of the two teams matched up.

Being a Seahawks fan, I still have mixed feelings about Superbowl XL, so I don't want the Stealers to win. But then Zona is a division rival and if they win we'd be the only team in the division without a Lomardi Trophy. Which would stink.

But I give the edge to the Stealers. As much as I don't want them to win. Their defense is insane. I love it. They play smashmouth football and they're going to give the Cards offense a hard time. I don't know why teams haven't covered Fitz the way the Seahawks did to Steve Smith in the NFC Championship game. The Cards aren't a great road team either so there's another advantage. Just blitz the heck out of Kurt Warner, he doesn't do good under pressure and when he is he usually causes turnovers.
The main thing is take Fitz out of the game. The guy makes those crazy acrobatic one handed catches that make you sick. The last time the two met the Cards won. But I see it going the other way.

Plus the refs could help :)

Ugh... I agree. The halftimes have sucked ever since the "wardrobe malfunction."

Btw, nice analysis of the game! I also agree that (like last year), it will depend on if Warner is pressured or not. If the Steelers can bring pressure and take him off his game, the Steelers should win handidly. If not, and Warner has time to do his thing, the Cardinals could make it a game.

My gut tells me Steelers will roll. Tomlin is a stud coach and 2 weeks is more than enough time for him to gameplan around Fitzgerald.

Yeah. Tom Petty, Prince, now Springsteen? I don't even listen to that music. That's "old people" music in my eyes haha.

YES! Pressure Warner, get him out of his comfort zone. You've seen what he can do with time. Throw those long bombs.
Of the two the Steelers have the better defense obviously being ranked #1 in the NFL, and we both know defense wins championships.

Plus, who did the Cardinals really play? A young Atlanta Flacons team who relied on the running game aka Michael Turner. I mean I LOVE Matt Ryan but their run game was more successful than their passing attack. The Cardinals exposed that and the Falcons became one-dimensional. Then a Carolina Panthers team that Jake Delhomme single handedly handed them the game with what 6 turnovers?
They haven't played a good team that's dangerous like the Steelers. And the Steelers are different from the team they played and beat in the regular season.

I didn't even see this haha.
Well that's the way to go if you're not interested. And watch the commercials. I can't wait until I turn 21.. Hopefully that'll be the year my Hawks go to the Superbowl and I get to go wherever it's at. I'll buy a beer just to buy one. Not drink it. Just buy it because I can haha.

That gives them 2 years.

I'm semi-interested. SB's turn out to be fun if not just for hanging out with friends and family.
Not real big on either team though. I guess I'm rooting for AZ cause Fitzgerald is from here.
On the other hand I love Polamalu as much as any player in ther league. He's about as hard a worker as there is! My second fave is Bob Sanders...gotta love the smaller guys that put the hurt out!

Imagine watching it on a 60" screen.
I'm practically drooling thinking about it.

The best part is always the commercials. If your team isn't in it, there's nothing really to be excited about. Last year's Superbowl I was excited about. I like Brady and Eli so I enjoyed it. Plus, Eli escaping a potential sack and David Tyree making that amazing catch.. What more could you ask for?
I enjoyed the '06 Superbowl too because I like Peyton as well.

I didn't do him any justice this year, more brought bad luck. Bought his jersey before the playoff game and they end up losing. What a shame.

I am excited to watch it in HD on my new 50" plasma. That should be nice.

I am not feeling good about the Steelers now. Brandon Lang picked the Cardinals to cover the spread, and possibly win outright. He is 16-0-2 all-time publicly picking the superbowl correctly! :woohoo:

Well my QB Matt Hasselbeck helped me make my decision today..

The Cards it is.

I can't believe I'm going to root for them.
I'd rather both teams lose :)
