I get a kick out of this paragraph from the pick'em list. Every positive about the Vikings but the Vikes will lose. No reason why they will lose but they will.

I don't have anything against the Pats. I actually watched them all the time for two seasons when I lived out in Hudson, NH. That is why it is my pick of the week. I think that the Chargers will surprise and pick up a win at New England.

Yeah, but this is exactly the type of game the Patriots come out an dominate. I can't think of a single game in the past seven seasons where the Patriots have gone through a week like this where they get trashed in the media, go through some kind of controversy, etc. and don't come out with a dominating win.

San Diego could very well break the trend and pick up the W. I just think history has made enough of a case against it to make them a \"pick of the week\".

Then again, if you interpret pick of the week to be \"my most suprising pick that I could be bragging about on Monday\" then San Diego makes sense. I interpret pick of the week as the pick I think is most likely to pan out. I'd be very surprised if Dallas didn't beat Miami by more than 3.5, that's why they're my pick of the week.

So I see where you're coming from if this is your \"big call\". But if you really think San Diego at +3.5 is a better bet than some of the other lines, I don't know what to say.

Hey, you're free to make your pick of the week whatever you want it to be. It just shocked me when I thought you were coming from the angle of \"the Chargers are the best bet on the board\". Then I realized you may have been looking at things from a different perspective, and it made sense.

If you want your pick of the week to be your big call, then that's what it is. But when CW and I do it, we make it our best bet.

Ohh, I guess I was reading it wrong too. I thought pick of the week was your \"gutsy\" selection of a team you thought would surprise folks on that given week. Should we have a \"cahones\" POTW too? I'll stick with the Vikings for that.

My safe pick of the week is Seattle then. Regardless of which lines we use, I don't think I'm gonna change any of my selections either.

Well ideally everyone would post their picks on Friday or Saturday in the picks thread for the week, and then just post the results and their running tally on Tuesday or whenever. But the honor system is definitely involved. For example, I forgot we had done this last year and posted after the fact last week and you'll just have to take my word for it.
