I'd like to make a change to the playoff rules if it's ok with everyone.
Basically, the $$$ picks are worth waaaay too much right now. I always wanted them to be worth the most, but now it's to the point where the other picks barely matter. You could get every straight pick, spread pick, and your POTW right and it's the same as winning a $500 bet.
The reason is that there's only 4 games instead of 16. Before, you could get up to 16 points straight, 32 points off the spread, and an additional 5 from your POTW, Upsets, etc. Now you're getting peanuts because there's so few games, and your money picks can net you up to +75 or -77.5 points. It's a little skewed.
To make up for it, I think we should adjust the straight and spread picks in proportion to a normal NFL week. So...
Wild card straight is 4 points instead of 1, vs. spread is 8 instead of 2 since there's 4x's less games
Same for the Divisional round.
Conference championships are worth 8 straight, 16 vs. spread
Super Bowl is 16 straight, 32 vs. spread.
The POTW will add 50% to your spread pick if correct. So 4 additional for the first two rounds, 8 additional for conference, and nothing for the Super Bowl since there's only one game.
Does that seem OK to everyone? Otherwise it's all about the money basically.
