With basketball season less then one month away, the Wolves need to make at least one trade before the season starts. Yes, they are players above the limit. I dont' think it is smart just for them to cut someone (tho if they do please let it be McCants). I think a good move for them to do would say trade the sloth Blount for a future draft pick of just money. ( I hear NJ needs a center). But in all seriousness, they need to do something before the deadline...

Here's five vital things that needs to happen for them to play at least .500 ball

1. Ricky D-At-least score 14 buckets a game, and be a mentor to the pups.

2. Howard- Be the sweet locker room presence he is, a mentor and to play deep.

3. Mad Dog- when he gets the body cast off, to work on his free throw shooting!!!! Sorry mad dog, but your free throw shooting is bad as Shaq's did you two learn to shoot them from the same dude? After-all they did play together.

4. For Dimwhit I mean the coach er whatever he wants to call him self, to buy a coaching book by Flip off of amazon, \"coaching for dummies\"

5. To gel well and try n play good ball. That is the most important thing for them to come together as a team. Most of them have played together back in Beantown, but they need to work well with the surviving wolves after this traumatic off season.

In the end, we are a team without a face and without a leader (though i pick Mad Dog or ratty), both of them are proven vets. And in a game that is built to get to the playoffs, and the finals it takes a veteran to know the game well. And both Theo n Mad Dog have been there and know what it takes. I hope this team does well, and yes I will be rooting. I am a diehard fan, but even diehard fans know that it will take something short of a miracle to get to the playoffs. I just hope for .500 ball playing, and hopefully a new front office and coach.

A few things:

- As of right now we've got 17 guys and can only have 15. So we have to trade or cut two of them. Honestly, if we somehow can't trade ANY of our players (that would be baffling), then I wouldn't mind cutting McCants.

- New Jersey doesn't need a center anymore, they signed Jamaal MaGloire this offseason... just an fyi.

1) That's a minimum of 28 points per game for Ricky Davis. Do you think that's possible? Not sure it would be too good for the time. It would be nice if he is a mentor though.

2) Agreed.

3) I don't think it really matters if he sucks at free-throws or not, as he shouldn't be shooting too many during actual games. He just won't play that much, our roster is too deep. Nothing against Maddog. I like him, I really do.

4) Wittman needs a TON of help, I also agree on this.

5) Spot on.

I agree, gelling as a team is a \"must.\" I don't care if we don't make the playoffs, as long as we try hard and put forth the utmost efforts every game.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

See here is the thing. There are far too many optimists here.

The talk that we have so much talent that is going to develop is so subjective. In comparison to last year, yup - we do have more young talent. The question is, in 2-3 years, how many other teams (That have already figured out the recipe for success) will have magically forgotten that the NBA doesn't stop after this year. Everyone else has talent too. Except they also have better coaching, superior mgmt, and a more desirable team (nobody ever wants to come here, and they never will).

So fine, we've got this young core of: AJ, Foye, Brewer, McCants (supposedly), Smith, Green, Telfailure, and Gomes.

Out of that bunch, we've got one real star - Jefferson.
We've got 3-4 players we are hoping turn out to be good players - Foye, Brewer, Green and Smith.
We've got the rest who are projected to be nice role players - McCan't, Gomes, Telfailure.

Everything won't turn out how we'd like. Out of our projected \"good\" or complimentary \"role\" players, half of them will fail. Be it Foye, Green, McNeverwill or anyone else.

So.....DRUM ROLL!
After all of this we are left with our star (who might just end up being good), we've got a player or two who would start for most teams, and a few nice role players.
Now let's add the draft....How has that worked out for us so far? That's right...Mcfail and Glen are still here. Let's cross our fingers on that. We seem to be getting better.
Oh wait, at least we've got free agency. MN is always a hot spot for professional athletes, proven by our attractiveness over the years to FA's like Troy Hudson, Hassell, and Hoiberg. All players that serve a great purpose, but are at best middle of the bench role players.
Lastly, we've got a grea...well, an average coach to put all of this together and atrocious mgmt to apply the glue.

In addition to all of this, you've got other teams out there who are doing the same thing and actually know the recipe for success. Does anyone really see us shooting past a team like San Antonio?

Sorry for the negativity, but goodness. This talk I've heard about us being a contender in 3-5 years is ludicrous. We may be close to 40-45 wins, but that's about it.

Great post Daddy.

I have been trying to change my previously uber negative ways, but perhaps it is for the best if I see the light and don't delude myself too much.

Howl for you.
