Dude. Holy crap. That was really, really good. Wow. I'm very impressed. A super positive Howl for you.

Here it is everyone. It's currently on the front page or here:

Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Wow... I'm still impressed. You set the bar really high! It was definitely \"above and beyond.\" Well done. ;)

Agreed. That was an excellent job, and much more than I was expecting!

My favorite line of the entire thing:

\"Many of those players that never needed to develop any kind of game are often shipwrecked once they face players of the same physical abilities. That does not apply to Sebastian Telfair, who, although being faster than a weasel with diarrhea, is only 6’0’’ and does not lead his team in assists because of his upper body strength. Those facts indicate that Telfair has a skill set that could translate to the NBA.\"

Very well written..

I think he will do well, IMHO he will be the darkhorse of the season.

Just give him some time. He's still young. As long as he's got his head on straight and is willing to listen and learn, you never know what could happen...

Thanks for all the flowers, guys. I'm glad you appreciated my work. Like I wrote in my mail to DeROK, I thought that in the end, the quality of my work would fall back on your site, because you published it. Therefore I tried to do as good as I could...now I only hope someone will read it. I mean, someone else than you guys ;) !

After all, you are always trying to promote the site to the general public.

I just checked it and it's got over 100 hits. So, some people are reading it. This thread in the forums will help for exposure too, as we've got a lot of lurkers in the forums. (People that just read, but don't post.)

Thanks for the info CW!

I just read the official Q&A with NcHale and Coach Witt with regard to the Miami trade and I spotted this line:

Wittman:
Randy Foye wasn't going to be a point guard, strictly. He was going to play some two. This is going to allow him to play more two, and get off the ball.

Just what I thought...backs up my assumption about playing time for Bassy, especially since we did not get back J-Will in the trade, so he will be the only real point guard in Minny (besides Jaric who ,for some reason, just doesn't tick as a PG in the NBA as he does on the international level).

After watching a couple of the preseason games, specifically the one in Turkey I think the Telfair era will run very hot and very cold.

He clearly had the speed to run the court and beat guys off the dribble. He wasn't able to reliably hit the layups or free throws that generated for him.

On defense there were two plays that stood out where he scratched an opposing player leaving a tiger like 3 claw marks bleeding from the face. Before that committed a very hard and unnecessary foul hitting a player in the face while seemingly trying to block a shot he couldn't have gotten with in 3 feet of.

Classless plays like that scare me off. This is a guy who needs to reform his image... he hasn't been arrested lately, but I didn't appreciate the dirty play at all; especially given the nature of a game in Turkey against a non-NBA team.

I love the speed and god knows if this team is going to have many fun games to watch this season they need to be capable at the point, but if I was betting I'd put plenty on this being a one season experiment.

Love your avatar... and welcome to the board!

Thanks for the info on that game in Turkey. I had no idea that stuff happened, nor did the rest of us I assume (as we weren't able to watch the game.)

I hope he works out for us, as I do think he has a chance to turn things around. However, like you said I wouldn't be surprised if he's just here this season and then is done when his contract expires.

Actually - having reread my article, which I wrote at something like 03.15am in the morning - I think I should have made more clear that I assume as well that the Brass is thinking about letting Telfair walk at the end of the season, especially with the comments Taylor made (I hope this is expressed - I always spoke of him getting a new contract somewhere else and not with the Wolves).

And his chances of getting a new contract with some other team heavily depend on the impact he can make with the Wolves, what will be difficult enough when you are young and it's your first year on a new team...not to mention that getting recognized as a bench player on some remote, loosing team isn't that easy to begin with.

And because he obviously is aware of this, he seems mightily over motivated in my opinion. Defense is still one of those areas he needs to improve if he wants to secure an NBA career, so those incidents pants (welcome to the Forum!) refers to appear to me as if they were a result more of ardor than of illwill. I have talked to some of my Turkish pals who have watched the game as well and although they are quick to condemn everybody who does harm to their beloved teams, they share my opinion. Things like that have no place in professional basketball, but they happen...myself, I still cary at least three scars where I have been scratched badly by opposing players. At least, it's not icehockey! Telfair maybe known for not living up to his hype or his talents so far, but not for being an overly dirty player. But we shall have a closer look on him over the regular season. If those things keep occuring, I guess than he will do the most damage to himself...

I try to be as objective as I can, but somehow I always seem to (mildly) defend Bassy. Don't know where that's coming from, because personally, I don't care much about him. Maybe it's just the way I see things ;) !

Thanks for the greetings. After whining to Comcast about their removal of the NFL network from my digital cable lineup they gave me the package the has it for like 2 bucks... it happened to come with NBA TV which aired that game in Turkey. It was nice to see the tip off of the post-KG era (sort of).

I stumbled across this site via TrueHoop. Fantastic.

I hope Bassy can focus on trying to win games this year. One of the scariest parts of having a young lineup with very very few defined starters is that when people come in off the bench their main focus will likely be show casing what they can do instead of thinking about winning (ref: Boston last year). That type of mindset would be most detrimental to a PG. If Bassy can play like he is above that type of thing he'll earn my respect very quickly.

Awesome, good to have you.

Also, I agree about your assesment of typical \"young lineups.\" Let's hope things don't go too badly...
