Interesting:

\"The real story is former coach Dwane Casey begged Kevin McHale, Wolves VP of basketball operations, last year to get rid of Davis, who was a real detriment to the team's chemistry. Plus, he wouldn't play defense.

One longtime coach told Casey that Davis was a worse influence on the team than the disruptive J.R. Rider. So there's is a reason he's played for six teams.\"

Riley must really think this guy is due for big numbers in the contract year because Riley already shipped Davis out of town once.

Man, I guess when you feel your window of opportunity is closing, you take a gamble. But Blount and Ricky have proven to be nothing but trouble. The would've been much better to wait for Shaq's contract to expire and then try to rebuild around Wade. Who knows? Maybe they'll end up in the crapper and he'll demand a trade!!!!!!!!!!

I can't see a way in which Miami doesn't regret this trade. If Wade and Shaq can stay semi-healthy they'll be in the playoffs. Can you imagine counting on or even using Ricky or Mark during a playoff run?

It doesn't seem like Riley the GM has any brains as long as Riley the coach exists.

I agree with Derok that if Miami's roster get locked up with Blount-Bloat they'll be looking at D-Wade talking like LeBron has been (or worse Kobe). It almost seems inevitable right now.

I saw this somewhere, and wasn't all that surprised. I didn't mind Davis, but this just adds another reason that he needed to go.

Ricky was fun to interact with at games during halftime and whatnot, but I'm honestly glad that he's away from our rebuilding efforts. I know it makes Bonk sad... but sorry bro.

Anyhow, the Heat are crazy for thinking this will go well. Did they want to get rid of Fatoine Walker that bad?!?! Wow, I'm honestly shocked.

I do think Ricky Davis will put up great stats in his contract year, but those stats won't have a positive correlation to actually winning games.

I love Wade as a player. He signed that \"short\" contract extension. Maybe he could come here when it ends... that would be unbelievable. :woohoo:
