Here's some bizarro world stuff I was pondering...


What if the Wolves had drafted Gerald Green #14 in the 2005 draft (like myself and many others were hoping.) And then what if the Celtics drafted McCants #18 that draft since Green was gone (assuming McCants slipped to #18.) That'd be weird. The weirdest thing is... would we all be excited about receiving McCants in the KG trade this summer? I mean, I was pretty excited that Green was included. I can only guess that we'd pretty much feel about McCants how most people felt about Green (that he's got potential and is athletic and blah blah blah.)

Maybe if things had went down like this I wouldn't dislike McCants so much? Maybe I'd really dislike Green after watching him the past two seasons? Who knows...

Wow. I think you make a great point!! I really do wonder what our feelings would be about Green & McCants has things played out differently via the draft.

Who knows if Green would've blossomed over here or McCants in Boston? Would the differnt situations have yielded different players or would they both still end up in roughly the same spot after 2 years in the league.

I know personally I never really liked McCants. 1st off, he played for UNC and I HATE North Carolina (Go Duke). Plus, he's had well documented issues in college. I don't know how excited I'd be to recieve a player with his history period. I would've been much more comfortable having Green here to begin with. Just think if the Twolves drafted like we all thought they should. Green, Roy, Brewer. We'd be set at PG-SF for the next few years and maybe we wouldn't even want McCants?? Maybe KG would still be here?

Give Foye a chance. I bet he'll impress us this season. He may not be a true PG, but I still think his numbers will be there.

As long as Foye will finally be allowed to play to his strengths, instead of being forced into a role he is not, he will be fine. He won't ever become a true PG - like I have said many times before, but once he is allowed to develop into a more promising direction, he can become a great combo guard. And what is to regret when you get a player like (the early) Steve Francis or Gilbert Arenas? I am not saying he will become as valuable as the aforementioned, but he definitely has the potential to come at least close.

Unfortunately, potential is all we have to talk about right now.
