Is he gonna get signed? Looks doubtful... :(
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Real smart....

The key player for the KG trade will be a restricted free agent at the end of the season. Any advantage the Wolves had in bargaining is gone. They can match any offers, sure, but they don't have any control over how much Jefferson will be paid.

For what it's worth, I've been saying we should sign him for the past month.

Guess our Front Office doesn't feel the same way...

Lets wait for Seattle to offer Big Al a max deal so they can sit back and watch Glen Taylor squirm, plus have a young big man to pair with Kevin Durant in Oklahoma City.

He'll either have to deal with giant contract redux or losing the only player with a ton of value on the team.

Als agent is asking for a max deal now. What is the difference if we pay max $ now or max $ after the season. If Al were to tank, later would be better than now don't you think?

I'd rather wait than hand out a max deal now.

Yeah, I agree that Al's agent is most likely not offering a discount now, so why not wait. Either way, I bet Big Al is getting 80 mill.

Taylor's an idiot.

Let him do whatever he wants.

I just hope this doesn't blow up in our faces...

Kevin McHale on the extension:
I’d like to get something done, but if we don’t, it’s not like it’s the end of the world...

No, it's just your job.

Of course I hope big Al becomes a huge star for our team long-term, but it's not as if every team in the same position as the Wolves is falling all over themselves to sign their players. A lot of teams are waiting. Are all those owners making the same error as well? The dust has not settled from a tornado of an off-season. Maybe the Wolves braintrust wants to have a better idea of what they have or don't have.

Yeah, if they're asking for the max, it's better to hold off on the off-chance he gets hurt this year or fails to meet expectations.

The Seattle comment did freak me out a bit. It's smart on their part, kind of. However, if they're doing it because they feel Al Jefferson isn't worth the max and they're trying to goad us into giving it to him, it's pretty risky. If we don't match, they're stuck with a bloated contract. If Al is worth the max, then it wouldn't be bad if we gave it to him and there would be no point of them messing with us. So I don't really think that will be much of an issue.
