This was linked to on Truehoop, but I thought I'd toss it in the mix here. This is a lengthly city pages interview from 2006. It contains a lot of the same content as the recent Pioneer Press piece.

One thought I have is that Taylor says he actively sought out McHale and that Kevin told him he had a lot of other stuff going on in his life but that he was willing to do it.

That remark unto itself slide a boat load of more blame Taylor's way. If Taylor is willing to keep on a GM of the Timberwolves for this long who let him know from the start that he wasn't going to dedicate himself like most of the other GM's in the league then you can't blame McHale for not dedicating himself enough. He is doing exactly what he was hired to do.

This attitude that Taylor has about not firing people doing a bad job because someone else wouldn't do it that much better is so lame I can't fathom it. It is so freaking lazy.

Agreed! Also, Howl for you posting this. I read it but didn't make a post. :(

Taylor should be just as at fault as McHale. I think we've been seeing that more in the recent seasons in terms of fan backlash. Mostly it's on the net though, in forums and blogs and whatnot.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."
