According to Sonia's front page post, the Bulls were offering Gordon or Deng, plus Tyrus Thomas, Thabo Sefalosha, PJ Brown, and their 9th pick for KG.

So would you rather have that trade or the one McHale made? Let's break it down...

Obviously we're talking Deng, since there's no way we do the trade if it's Gordon instead. I'd personally rather have Al than Deng because Al's a PF, and he signed a nice contract with us, versus Deng who is probably seeking the max.

Tyrus Thomas vs. Gomes/Telfair/Green - I'd rather have Thomas than any of them, or even all three of them at this point. He could be a big-time player down the road while Gomes and Telfair are role players and Green's turning into a bust.

PJ vs. Theo - Theo's got the bigger contract.

Bulls #9 (Probably Noah, but we'd have done the picking so maybe not) vs. the Celtics super high 1st rounder in the future and our pick back. No question, the Bulls offered a better pick than the C's. Getting our pick back was big, but with the way our team is playing, it would've likely defaulted to a 2nd rounder in a few years anyway.

So...

Al is better than Deng
Gomes/Green/Telfair is worse than Ty Thomas and Thabo
Theo's contract is better than PJ's
Celtics.\' picks are worse than Chicago's

Hard to say which is better... The Bulls probaby offered better overall talent, but the Celtics offer was much more financially friendly which could help us with trades/signings down the road. If you put a gun to my head, I'd go with the Celtics deal simply because it may pay more dividends in the future. But they're both pretty close in my book.

Right on. It's the \"combo meal\" that was so attractive with the Boston trade. It really doesn't matter what the \"experts\" think. We can just quitly and patiently cheer the progress our players make this year and in time we will be the experts.

If the Bulls won't even offer Deng for Kobe, is it really fair to assume they would've given him to us in a trade for KG? My guess is they were only offering Gordon, and not Deng.

I agree with Bonk... I don't see how they would give us all that PLUS Deng for KG. Perhaps at the trade deadline two years ago, but not this summer. If we are talking two years ago when Deng *was* available, it changes the entire dynamic of the trade so it's not even worth discussing.

As for which I'd take... I'd take the Bulls deal if it included Deng. Otherwise, stick with the Boston deal.

Deng vs Al: Al is a bigman and probably has more upside, but Deng is a bonafide All-Star candidate. There's also no guarantee that Deng will get more money than Al got.

Ty Thomas vs Gomes/Telfair/Green: I like Ty, but his game is pretty limited. Then again, so is Green and Telfair. I love Gomes as you all know.

PJ vs Theo: Doesn't really matter. PJ is better offensively and more durable, but less of an expiring contract (which we'll just let expire anyways. Lame.)

Bulls #9 vs C's crappy #1 (low 20's probably): No brainer. I'm not even mentioning our pick because there is no way Boston would have gotten it before it defaulted to a second rounder. There are a lot of good guys we still could have gotten with the #9 pick. Or perhaps they could have packaged that pick plus our pick and moved way up? Ya never know... I would have loved to move up to #3 and taken Horford (who is tearing it up, btw.)

If Deng was involved I'd do the Bulls trade, but I doubt he was. I'm still happy with what we got from Boston and I would NOT want Gordon on our team at all.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I will have to go with the Boston trade.

Everything else is about the same, the important thing is either Luol Deng or Al Jefferson and Al Jefferson will be better than Luol Deng. His potential is better than Luol Deng's. He is a big so he will be able to dominate more. Plus, I think Luol Deng is a nice player but I don't think he will be as great as the Bulls are making him out to be.

If I were the Bulls I would definitely give him up for Kobe. Luol Deng will never be able to dominate like Kobe does.

I would trade Deng for Kobe too... but it's not like Deng is a slouch. He's pretty damn good. Also, he's only 21 years old, which is 9 years younger than Kobe. Of course he doesn't dominate like Kobe does, but that's because Kobe is arguably the best player in the league.

I believe the Bulls were more than willing to part with Deng for Kobe, it was Kobe who didn't want to play for a Deng-less Bulls, because then he'd be no better off than he is in LA.
