Good idea or bad to send Brewer and/or Richard to the D-League for a while so that they can at least get some playing time?

Personally, I'd rather have them play in actual NBA games. However, with Wittman/our Front Office's penchant for not playing rookies and having a very inconsistent rotation, who knows how much burn they'll be getting, if any.

Thoughts?
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I see no problem with sending them down for say two weeks to let them get some run. I wouldn't keep them there for long because you want to get them used to the NBA. But a brief stint may help.

Agreed... it's certainly better than not playing at all. :S

I agree. I'd like Brewer to get more time to play as he has great potential, but if Wittman doesn't see this he should at least send Corey to the D-League.

Foye got a lot of time last season and the benefits were obvious. There's quite a high learning curve going into the NBA, the more you get to play the better you'll be.

I'd be okay with that. Right now, they're not playing enough to help us or hurt us. So, they might as well be playing in the D-League and earning their paychecks somehow.

By the way Allyson, I'm sorry about the news about Marko. Who knows, maybe it won't last?

I would send Richard but not Brewer. Brewer need to learn the NBA game more and playing in the NBA would help.

Anything would help him at this point. Playing major minutes in the D-League will help him infinitely more than playing 0 minutes in the NBA.

Who knows... our Front Office seems to lack direction and long-term planning. I'm at a loss as to what they'll do. It seems as if they've adopted the strategy of trying to win as many games as possible, which is absurd. A few wins every now and then is fine, don't get me wrong. I'm just wondering if we'll see the younger guys playing more minutes the next few games since we just picked up a win...?

A late reply to this, I know, but I'm watching the first half of the Spurs game, and I've got to say I'm really impressed with what Brewer brings on D. He's not very big and can get pushed around, but he has an uncanny knack for where to be and definitely causes a lot of disruption. He's been lit up a few times, but then again Trenton Hassell and other so called defensive minded players the Wolves have had got lit up regularly too.

I think more than anything, Brewer just needs a coach who is semi-competent and/or conscious. Give him consistent minutes and I think he'll develop just fine.

Richard, though, could definitely use some minutes in the D-League since it doesn't look like he'll crack the big man rotation for the Wolves anytime soon.
