What a great and helpful aticle! Thank you very much for your work College Wolf, which has surely cost you some time!

Since I have to admit that near to everything I know about Baskteball and Football (my favorite U.S. sports) I have learned from years of playing EA sports videogames, I never was that informed about the complicated twists of the salary rules, which is an absolutly alien system to the common European...I basically knew that there was a salary cap and therer my knoledge ended. Over the last few years, when I started...better: was forced to gather B-Ball information via the internet, I learned a little bit more about those rules, the idea of a soft and a hard cap, the luxury tax and the apparently dozens of exceptions, but this never was my main interest, so there is still plenty to learn for me and this article was a big step on that way.

Thank you very much! If I had'nt howled DeROK a few minutes ago...but you will get my next one for this article for sure.

But just one note:
...you can expect to see him in one of the foreign leagues... Or not see him, because honestly, who watches that?
I DO! Thanks for asking!

Thanks for the comment, glad you liked it. Yes, it did take a lot of time to do, but I enjoyed writing it so that makes it ok... :) I'm also glad that some of the information was helpful to you, as that was my intention.

If you have any other questions or anything, feel free to ask. Someone will help you find the answer.

P.S. I know you watch the foreign leagues (and I appreciate your game updates.) You are exempt from the jokes because of your circumstances living in Europe and the fact that you can't watch the NBA games. I was mostly getting at the fact that we all watch the NBA over here and I wouldn't even know how to watch any of the european league games if I wanted to!

I guess it must be difficult having this non native speaker around  !

Sorry, maybe I shuould have added some sort of emoticon to th last line of my post, because this time, I did get the joke and tried to respond to it by making one supposedly funny exclamation myself. I do know and understand that virtually nobody in the US would watch the foreign Basketball leagues when they already have access to NBA and College Ball already. And I can't blame them, although there is indeed some decent play to be seen here in Europe and it offers the same amount of suspense and emotions.

Please keep making such jokes! I have read them on the internet for years and I can divide between fun (especially irony and sarcasm, which I enjoy), and true disrespectfulness. I know where I live and having been to the U.S. and together with one of your kind, I hope I do understand your view of the world much better that the average European does (although I understand that even living in one huge nation, one American might be different from another as much as a guy from Sweden differs from an Italian).

And thanks again for that article!

Lol, I thought you were joking by that line, but I just wanted to clarify in case I wasn't sure about what you were saying. Oh well, no harm done. I am glad that you are able to divide between actual jokes and insults. That's good to hear. Especially since I am quite a jokester and hardly ever actually intend to insult people. I'm glad we cleared that up. And yes, I think you have a pretty good grasp on things... at least from the small time I've known you on these forums.

Thanks again for the compliments.

College Wolf
Thanks again for the compliments.
They are well deserved :) !

And I am happy that, besides \"much ado about nothing\", we got this joke.thing cleared. I LOVE GOOD JOKES, even if they are on me, Germans, or Europeans generally...

AWESOME Article!!!! WOW. Just wow! That must've taken a lot of time to research all the finer points of the NBA Salary cap. I found it very informative!

Yeah man, that was some seriously good work. I don't know how you did it. I would've gotten so bored combing through all that stuff. But you summarized it nicely and turned some dry, boring salary rules into an interesting read. You get a Howl for that one!

Thanks guys!

It wasn't too boring. It helped that I split it up and did significant chunks over three days. I find it to be pretty interesting and just hope that it can be a decent resource to help people out who have questions. I guess I prefer doing big articles spaced out, moreso than say stuff like short(er) daily updates. I take after Simmons I guess. ;)
