Nice second quarter for Rubio and the Wolves. Started with an 11 point deficit and yet had the lead going into the half!

Not sure how long they can hang with them in the second half. But at least they didn't fold early after the hole our starting back court put us in again.

Frustrating loss.

Well, imagine if we had a real live shooting guard to play alongside Rubio. The warm body that is Wellington scored 10 points on 13 shots, missed down the stretch, and couldn't guard Wade which meant Rubio was stuck on him- a tall task for a rookie playing out of position.

Also I hate Wellington's ugly shot where he extends both arms towards the basket like he's pushing the ball up there. You're supposed to get rid of that garbage in 9th grade.

Now I'm just being surly and basketball-snotty.

OK. After time to cool down, here are my thoughts:

1. I have nothing bad to say about Wayne. He played admirably, all things considered.

2. You can't complain when the 3 point play to take the lead should have been a charge. Freaking ridiculous call. Absurd, stupid, cheating call.

3. I like the inverted playing time where Luke plays 17 and Ricky plays 31.

4. Ricky hitting shots is a good sign. He kind of plays like Kidd out there doesn't he? Even down to the no-jump set shot that is just effective enough to keep you honest when you try to completely forget about him?

5. Didn't see the middle of the game or why Randolph didn't play more, he put in some buckets and connects well with Rubio. Was he getting handled on D?

6. Nice to see Williams knocking down some shots.

7. This team plus a shooting guard, plus a legitimate center would be a playoff team. Seriously. We aren't a playoff team yet, but replace Darko with Gortat and replace Wes with Iguodala or Mayo and we would be a 6 or 7 seed in the West. Love, Rubio, and Adelman are elite.

Love = legit, but still a bad defender. I can't hate him all things considered.

Darko = Why is he not playing more? His defense is GOOD. He should have been in at the end clogging the lane. WTF? You put Darko on the cHeat and just tell him to rebound, block shots, and play D and everyone would love him. His contract would be a steal.

Puke Ridnour = He sucks and I can't stand watching him. Why does he play? No one wants to see him.

Wes = The worst. Please don't play.

Tolliver = At least we have a coach that recognizes his contributions and actually plays him.

Ellington = Yuck. If we had a real SG... ahhhh, I can only dream.

AR = Played well. He has upside. Considering we got him for free compared to drafting D-Charge freakin #2 overall... it's hard to make a case that D-Charge is that much more important to our future. If that makes sense to anyone. At least, the gap there isn't that large between the two guys I don't think.

Malcoln Lee = Good thing we gave him a 3 year deal. No other 2nd rounders ever get that. Try looking at the draft history of the past few years and please show evidence othewise.

Norris Cole = Stud. We didn't need. Damn he's been awesome this year.

Williams played well tonight. Is a much, much smarter player than Randolph, charges aside. Good shot selection, just needs to learn that guys in the pros set up for charges when you barrel towards them.

I like Randolph, we'll see the cumulative effect of Adelman on him as the year rolls on.

Love... Seriously? You must be drunk. Love is elite this year. I'm not even going to pretend that his defense is a big deal. Anything you lose on D with him is made up on offense and rebounding by 10x. And I am the guy who loves gritty D. Just admit it, Love = stud.

Again, with Wayne once I stopped and thought about it, I couldn't hate on him. It's not his fault he's being asked to play starter's minutes instead of being an emergency spot up shooter off the bench. He is Trent Tucker, not Manu Ginobli.
