Flash, random question....can you remind us what country you are posting from?

Sure. Bosnia and Herzegowina. Why do you ask?

Either he thought you're from Montenegro since you root for Pek, or he thought you're Serbian 'cause you hate Darko.

Take your pick ;)

Who do you Bosnians hate?

I watched the European Handball Championships last month and you Balkans are friggin crazy! ;)

Sidenote: How come Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia all are great at handball, but B&H aren't? Cultural thing?

..feck, I turned and American basketball forum-thread into a European handball discussion-thread..

This is legit conversation as these are all things that I imagine Pek contemplates while he smokes his pipe, sips on tea, and carves another notch on his belt of souls conquered.

I may be nitpicking here, but Pek doesn't conquer souls, he devours them.

I think he can be very successful as the 1st big off the bench. I'm not ready to declare him a full-fledged starting caliber player yet. Especially next to K-Lav on this team, they will get eaten alive by good big men and fast guards who like to drive to the hoop. They made Collison look way better that he really is last night. Every time he drove Love and Pek were a step slow and he went in for an easy layup.

Hey now, don't you go criticizing Kevin Love's defense or else I'll tell Jim Pete and Canis Hoopus. From what I hear Kevin Love "moves his feet well"...he "denies position" or something "better than every other PF" I think...and he "challenges without fouling, exquisitely." So that's that. I gotta learn more about basketball I think because I haven't seen these things

Meh, to tell the truth it's not just handball where we are behind those counries. It's because the country is not well organized and there is no good work with young talents.
But we were so near the EC2004 and then lost played 1:1 against your country but needed a win. ;)
We also lost two times against Portugal in playoffs for big tournaments.

It's not that I'm hating Darko or loving Pek. I'm objective. :)

Small area quickness.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

THAT'S what it's called. Good catch. I can't remember it. Yea, he has great 'small area quickness', which allows him to perfectly defend the opposing players.

Wow, big props to Flash for being from B&H. I never realized that. That's cool you are such a big fan.

I don't know why I'm not as high on Big Pecker as most of you. I LOVE good post play, and he is fantastic in the post. I just feel like he's the type that looks good in small sample sizes, but over an extended period of time will not be effective. I hope I am wrong. I don't think I am.

i feel much more comfortable with pek on the court then darko. sure our defense isnt quite as good, but we can score when he is playing. when darko is on the court the offense is aweful.

Bonk - Could be right. It's the foul rate that hurts his potential minutes. But in longer stretches he has been more effective already this year. Pek's bread and butter right now is that 6 feet and in post shot. It seems to go in every time and that has been his strength for years even pre-NBA. It is rare and hard to find and something we should not take it for granted. It's the players like AR, D Will (with some exceptions), Ridnour, Ellington, Wes, Darko, et. al. that are not nearly as rare and can be found for cheap contracts and 3rd tier free agent signings. Pek has a post accuracy not often found in the NBA.

Flash - Was just wondering and I remembered you mentioned it earlier, and noticed that your English is improving a lot! That's awesome. Do you watch many of the games online? I love how league pass archives the games. You could probably get every game over there whenever you want.
