This thread is great. I am with WallyWorld on his people not liking K. Love is annoying post. The guy puts up 42 & 39 against LMA and Blake in back to back games, both teams who are ahead of us in the playoff standings, and we WIN both games. It is pretty amazing. I would think that with all of the losing this team has done the past 5 years that fans would be obsessed with K. Love by now. Of course, I'm more of a Rubio guy myself, so I guess I'd better shut up.
Maybe it's like some people here are so used to following a losing team and are just used to bitching and complaining and looking at things pessimistically and like to provide answers and solutions. I am not one of them. I like to be happy and optimistic if possible, although realistic and level-headed at the same time. I hated my attitude toward the team the past 5 years, but that was a product of management lying to fans, management selling fans on guys like Foye being future stars, KG getting thrown under the bus, Glen Taylor, Kurt Rambis' complete fail at coaching, Big Al refusing to play D, Gomes Gomes'ing it, Jonny Flynn existing, bad drafts, minimal free agent signings, bad losses, horrible records, apathetic home crowds, subpar cheerleaders, McCants standing in the corner, etc, etc. Now that the tide has turned, I will not be complaining about Wes' passivity or JJ's out of controlness too much because we are WINNING and THINGS ARE WAYYYYYY BETTER than they have been in 5+ years.
Whoever said a few pages ago that Rubio doesn't have the ceiling Love has is speaking gibberish though. No one thought Love's ceiling was this high, not even last year, not even a few weeks ago. You get the point. This is a fluid world, things are always changing. Wolfenstein is getting wayyyy ahead of himself talking about Love's Hall of Fame numbers. But I do think I see his point - that K. Love is doing historically great things right now and we should be sitting back and enjoying the ride. I am.
Wow that was awesome. Howl.
I guess we have a right to be a little bitter, yet. I understand the lingering pessimism I guess. Just not the attraction to rebuilding. Stockholm Syndrome defined.
It just gets tiring. So Love can't guard guys well. Oh, shoot. Well, the dude rebounds the ball like Charles Barkley, has gotten countless absurd offensive rebounds in crucial moments (one against LAC late in the 4th Monday stands out. It was truly incredible.), can actually dunk now...even in traffic, can pass the ball well, is improving his post game weekly, shoots threes at a higher % than Jason Terry, Deron Williams, Marcus Thornton, Kevin Martin AND James Harden, is a good team guy, can actually handle the ball these days and create his own shot opportunities
Ahh... but he complains too much and isn't the best defender. Definitely no other star in the league has EVER subscribed to these two characteristics whose balls have been washed on these forums over the years. Never. Better trade him for 2 $0.50 pieces and move on while we can.
