Bundle up all the guys that would be making 4 million or more, those guys who contribute zero/little to loads of inconsistency at best, and send all of them packing or don't resign them.

Don't pick up the qualifying contracts on Beasley and Randolph. Fortunately, Miller is retiring. Turn Martell free. Amnesty Darko.

With Wes, not sure what you can do because I don't any team wants him in a trade and then pay him 4 million. If you keep him, don't let him on the court, because we know he is contributing zilch.

D-Will: personally I don't mind if he is back. He's got to be better, especially with Rubio. But definitely pull the trigger on a trade if Kahn can drum something up.

All that leaves some money in the pot to go after Mayo or someone that can contribute. Get two guys. Then fill out the last spots with guys that are making a minimal amount, not all this waste that we have now with guys earning 4 million.

Hey, if you need the money or it helps a trade, unload Ridnour too.

KAHN -- get something done!

So with Wes, you hit the nail on the head. Nobody wants him. That being said, isn't it possible that he could, after rehab and several more years in the league, eventually develop into a Brandon Rush kind of player? He needs to work on his handle, no doubt. He needs to learn to attack the basket, no doubt. But what he does have is 1) a fairly solid but ultimately inconsistent jumpshot; 2) solid athleticism that allows him to block some shots on D.

I'm talking down the road, and used sparingly as a role player, I think he could do decent. He's been a starter and we all know how disappointing as a #4 pick he is. Whatever. I'm over it.

Also, the comment about Montenegro & Serbia yields you a howl. I love geopolitical humor.
So we have to wait YEARS for Wes to turn into Brandon Freakin Rush?!? Gave him playing time and pay a ridiculous contract (compared to his production, at least.) Ummmmmmm no thanks. We can sign a free agent with better production for cheaper. Heck, there are guys in the D-League for the absolute bare minimum that would be better than Wes.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

We played just to two wins? Why?

Because the 2nd round is only best of 3. Next year it will probably be best of 5 instead.

Wes is my hero. He hasn't improved at anything since being a good but not great player in college and is now making $4 million dollars to smile and suck at basketball. I'm not even mad, it's not his fault he got drafted 4th because of "length, athleticism, and potential" even though he was already like 30 years old at the time of the draft.

Watched the game last night. I enjoyed most of it. Three thoughts:

1. There were two different points where I realized who 4 of the Wolves were out there on the court and asked myself, "Who is out there with them?"

Both times it was the invisible, non-contributing Wes. He was basically hiding.

At least Martell lets you know he is out there, whether flying high for a rebound or some out of control stupid play to the hoop.

2. How can you not love Pekovic?! He was loved last year for just being a beast. Now he is just making plays. He produces. He scores. He's got moves. He plays hard.

He's the anti-Darko. Watching this whole Darko-Pek situation this year makes it clear why Montenegro separated from Serbia.
3. Rudy Gay. I really wish we had him. I need to watch him play more.

Nice post. The Serbia thing was hilarious!

Highlights of the game actually made it seem like a somewhat decent game.

I am so sick of looking at the boxscore and seeing:
Webster 30 min. 1-6 FG, 0 FT, 4 pts.
Johnson 25 min. 2-5 FG, 0 FT, 0-2 3P, 4 pts.

These guys have proven time & time again that they can't and won't step up when needed. It's one thing when Rubio and Love are playing and they are our 4th/5th options out there. But when we desperately need help and need scoring and our 2 starting wings continually give us next to nothing over and over again... Get rid of them both.

This is awesome. The game after I posted this mini-rant, look at how similar these guys' box scores were to what I stated:

Webster 27 min. 1-4 FG, 0 FT, 3 pts.
Johnson 22 min. 2-6 FG, 0 FT, 1-3 3P, 5 pts.

What jokes. They have had so many chances to succeed and step up. Begone.

Ever notice how Webster, a 5 year pro (or is it 6?), still panics when he is dribbling? He acts like 'that one guy' in a pickup game when he passes out of a jump, fumbles easy passes, etc.. He is so frustrating. If he could just knock down a wide open shot....

I know not everyone here is wild about Jamal Crawford's efficiency, but it's not difficult to see how his combination of size and ball-handling would really help strengthen the SG/SF rotation.

For what it's worth, I in no way whatsoever wanted Crawford the chucker. Last summer. Look it up.

Let's just trade up to draft Barnes. Barnes has been exposed in the NCAA this year, but it's because he needs a PG to create for him. Hello............ enter Ricky Rubio.
