Don't pick up the qualifying contracts on Beasley and Randolph. Fortunately, Miller is retiring. Turn Martell free. Amnesty Darko.
With Wes, not sure what you can do because I don't any team wants him in a trade and then pay him 4 million. If you keep him, don't let him on the court, because we know he is contributing zilch.
D-Will: personally I don't mind if he is back. He's got to be better, especially with Rubio. But definitely pull the trigger on a trade if Kahn can drum something up.
All that leaves some money in the pot to go after Mayo or someone that can contribute. Get two guys. Then fill out the last spots with guys that are making a minimal amount, not all this waste that we have now with guys earning 4 million.
Hey, if you need the money or it helps a trade, unload Ridnour too.
KAHN -- get something done!
So with Wes, you hit the nail on the head. Nobody wants him. That being said, isn't it possible that he could, after rehab and several more years in the league, eventually develop into a Brandon Rush kind of player? He needs to work on his handle, no doubt. He needs to learn to attack the basket, no doubt. But what he does have is 1) a fairly solid but ultimately inconsistent jumpshot; 2) solid athleticism that allows him to block some shots on D.
I'm talking down the road, and used sparingly as a role player, I think he could do decent. He's been a starter and we all know how disappointing as a #4 pick he is. Whatever. I'm over it.
Also, the comment about Montenegro & Serbia yields you a howl. I love geopolitical humor.
So we have to wait YEARS for Wes to turn into Brandon Freakin Rush?!? Gave him playing time and pay a ridiculous contract (compared to his production, at least.) Ummmmmmm no thanks. We can sign a free agent with better production for cheaper. Heck, there are guys in the D-League for the absolute bare minimum that would be better than Wes.
