Brandon Roy has reached a verbal agreement to join the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to multiple reports.
The Oregonian newspaper first reported the agreement. The two sides agreed to a two-year, $10.4 million deal, according to The Associated Press.
Roy can't officially sign with Minnesota until July 11.
Woohoo sweet deal. Then there is also this:
"Welcome Brandon Roy," tweeted Wolves forward Derrick Williams, who wore Roy's No. 7 in Minnesota last season. "(No.) 7 is all yours."
Yea, cuz your punk ass is getting traded hahahahahaha
But enough hating on Derrick, this is our current roster:
PG: (Rubio), Ridnour, Barea,
SG: Roy, Ellington, Lee
SF: Budinger, Less Johnson, Hummel
PF: Love, D-Will
C: Pek, Darko
Other: contracts of Webster & Miller
As you can see, it's shaping up to look like an actual basketball team. We're still really thin on the wings. Roy shouldn't be counted on to stay healthy, it will just be a bonus if he does.
If the Blazers match on Batum, we desperately need to make a D-Will + Webster/Miller + whatever the hell they want for Iggy trade happen. Then we'll be looking at an honest to God playoff team.
If Batum or Iggy happens we won't be remotely thin on the wings
Rotation
PG - Rubio, Ridnour, JJ (will all three every be healthy at once, doubt it)
SG - Roy, Wes
SF - [Batum/Iggy],Buddinger
PF - Love, Williams
C - Peko, [FA, Steisma or Hill]
Suits - Lee, Hummel, Ellington
If it takes Williams to get Iggy (which would be a bummer) then stop the presses. The MN Timberwolves need to sign a PF to complete the roster.
