Brandon Roy has reached a verbal agreement to join the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to multiple reports.

The Oregonian newspaper first reported the agreement. The two sides agreed to a two-year, $10.4 million deal, according to The Associated Press.

Roy can't officially sign with Minnesota until July 11.

Woohoo sweet deal. Then there is also this:

"Welcome Brandon Roy," tweeted Wolves forward Derrick Williams, who wore Roy's No. 7 in Minnesota last season. "(No.) 7 is all yours."

Yea, cuz your punk ass is getting traded hahahahahaha

But enough hating on Derrick, this is our current roster:

PG: (Rubio), Ridnour, Barea,
SG: Roy, Ellington, Lee
SF: Budinger, Less Johnson, Hummel
PF: Love, D-Will
C: Pek, Darko
Other: contracts of Webster & Miller

As you can see, it's shaping up to look like an actual basketball team. We're still really thin on the wings. Roy shouldn't be counted on to stay healthy, it will just be a bonus if he does.

If the Blazers match on Batum, we desperately need to make a D-Will + Webster/Miller + whatever the hell they want for Iggy trade happen. Then we'll be looking at an honest to God playoff team.

Pretty bizarre that the reason that we didn't keep him when we had him...his knees...is the reason that we now have him.

Still a shame that we did not have him paired with KG during those good knee years. The way he played would have been perfect with KG.

Who would have thought a couple years ago that Roy would be a free agent at 27 and sign with the Wolves?

This will be a great story if we get some positive contributions out of him on the court. Either way, Adelman has got to love having a vet like this on the roster and in the locker room.

It's going to be interesting to see how this team plays when Roy is on the court.

Let's keep working on this roster!

Lawrence said Roy is not joining the Timberwolves with any expectations or demands other than a chance to compete for a starting job.

"He just wants a chance to earn what he can," Lawrence said. "If he is playing at a starter level, he wants to start. If he is playing at a sixth-man level, he will come off the bench. But Brandon is not going to come back and be the 13th man on the roster. He wouldn't do all this hard work to come back unless he felt he was going to make an impact."

Roy was being pursued by several teams -- Golden State, Indiana and Dallas among them -- but Lawrence said Roy chose Minnesota because he was impressed by head coach Rick Adelman and because of his relationship with former Blazers assistant Bill Bayno, who is now on Adelman's staff. Lawrence said Roy was also impressed by how hard Minnesota pursued him.

"He felt really comfortable right from the beginning," Lawrence said. "He's really intrigued by them. With (Ricky) Rubio and Kevin Love, they are building to contend, they are looking like a potential playoff team. And they were very aggressive in their pursuit."
