My guy (good look Pujols aka Badger from Breaking Bad - if you are lurking) sent me this article below. He's much more likely to pay attention to the numbers than I am (I look at numbers every day, hate em). Still, gives us all a (likely) different perspective on Kahn/Team Adelman. Looks like there is a bit of value in his analysis, although he's probably never watched a game of basketball in his life.

I'll start giving Kahn a little bit of credit for cleaning up his mess when it's all said and done. still some other things to do, I bet.

Best assembled team the Wolves have had since KG left. I can't really hate on Kahn... Kirilenko is better than Batum and Shved has more layers to his game than Lee (At least based on what I've seen) Only issues I see is getting Pek under Contract and that Kirilenko can actually opt out after this year...But this is a playoff team. If Rubio gets back healthy, and Roy can provide a few sparks, it's a 6th seed

Are you sure Kirilenko can opt out after this year? Everything I've seen is 2 years with the player option in the 3rd year.

Two years. Player Option for second year.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Hmmmm, WP48 and TS% don't capture THAT!? How the hell can I begin to figure that out if numbers don't capture it!? :(

Every single thing I've read has said that is what the deal is.

Agreed. Wish it wasn't the case.

I saw rumors of a 3rd year PO super early on, and since then have only seen the ESPN report that doesn't say anything about the contract- so I don't know anything at all about the contract other than 2 years $20M. So I was just looking for something to look at for more info in general, not doubting that you are right.

Yes, a 3-year contract was part of the rumors but it turned out as CW has it. I can see AK liking it in MN and staying, but certainly the topic for the next year is going to be whether he opts out and tries to get one final big 4-year NBA contract.

Well, here's to hoping that he doesn't opt-in next summer because he is thinking, "I sucked this year. No way I am getting 10 mill anywhere else!"

At least we know already that he is better than Batum!

It's not absurd if there are no injury factors....so therefore it is absurd. I think 50 wins is a reasonable goal, though. .61 win %. Absolutely realistic given the amount of suck that has been purged from this roster.

Speaking of which, I strongly agree with his "upgrading from terrible to average is just as good as upgrading from good to great" thesis. Even though I was a negative lunatic during the post-Batum-thru-Kirilenko timeline, the team would have been much better even before those moves were made.
