We'll have to agree to disagree. I saw it in full speed and it would never have been called.

Who cares. Shved is the one with the Rubio pass, not the travel/layup

I didn't see the game but wish I could have. Sounds awesome!

This is perfect for Shved -- keep playing with Kirilenko this summer, and against real competition. Then he gets a full training camp. I know Adelman is hesitant to give minutes to rookies, but maybe Shved will earn some.

I really have had low expectations for Shved for this first year. Maybe I should take a game like yesterday's and swing wildly all the way to the other side and expect him to start at PG on opening night! He may be the only healthy guy that really plays the point like Adelman prefers.

We'll see if Kahn the gambler has a real find in Shved and then he can gloat again some day! Too bad he doesn't know how to draft an American.

I had a big fight with Jerry Zgoda on twitter about Shved just last night...He was talking about never been tested, what happens when he plays against NBA talent, how come more teams didn't want him, blah blah etc...I said listen, first of all, When I judge talent, I don't judge on the competition. When evaluating a combo guard like Shved, I evaluate his ball handling, his decision making, his ability to pass, shoot, get to the rack etc. It doesn't matter what competition he's playing against, if he can't do all of those things, he won't' be successful...I basically said look Jerry, I've seen the kid play, I've seen his skill set, and while initially he may struggle, he has the Game to translate to the NBA..Last night i was ridiculed, Today I look a little bit better

Why didn't more teams go after him? Who knows? Ginobili fell threw the cracks, Pekovic was a 2nd around pick. Sometimes, international players aren't evaluated as well as others. From what I've seen, the Kid has game and can play at any level. I mean for a large portion of the game, Deng was on him too

I saw that and thought it was pretty funny. Howl to you!

Regarding Pek:

During the draft, everyone knew Pekovic was a first round pick. But he had a European contract and wasn't coming over right away. So it was known that he would be the first pick of the 2nd round. McHale took him and kept him, but if I remember, others were interested in trading for that spot to get him.

Anybody read that recent Rubio article from Spain? Basically he said he wants to create more of a family type atmosphere with the Wolves, like he feels on the Spanish national team.

Maybe they can start by all getting a tattoo with Alexey's quote from yesterday (the name of this topic) in whatever language they prefer:

Алексей Швед: «Все игроки «Миннесоты» чувствуют себя особенно»

August 4 Spain - Russia game.

That will be one of those that is killing Ricky as he watches from America. That would have been awesome to see him go at it against Alexey.

Does Ricky have an appointment in Vail today?

Ahhh...look at the love we got going here:
"I actually said 'Hi' to AK the other night after the Opening Ceremony," Love said. "I'm definitely going to stay up to date with what he's doing. We talked about it. We're very excited to be teammates back in Minnesota."

Love hasn't met Shved. "I'm going to have a chance to see him play," Love said. "And Ricky will be here, too. He mentioned after he goes back to Colorado to get his knee checked out, he'll be back over here, so anything I can do to get the camaraderie going when we get back to Minneapolis, I'm going to do it.''

La Familia. Good for Ricky and Love. Doing good stuff. Ricky needs to focus on rehab and practice shooting his midrange jumper, forget watching the Olympics.

I keep telling myself it's one game, but man was that a superb showing....I'll indulge in irrational exuberance. Ak47 CLEARLY has still got it. I hate the comments from the color dudes that he is "making his way back to the NBA" as if he fell out of the league. Makes me cringe. Stupid lockout. Or good lockout. He wouldn't be a free agent if not for that.

A strong argument could be made that AK47 is a better fit and option than Batum would have been. Sure the Wolves are on a 2-3 year plan, but hopefully with Glen's new owner (!!), there is continued motivation to spend and get pieces down the line.

It's like adding an additional, lite-version of Rubio and Love to the roster. Shved has handles, is active on D and is a great passer. His shooting form is pure butter. He could be a better facilitator than Barea and Luke at this point. We'll see.

Russia is suddenly more intriguing to watch than the US team.

Man I'm bummed I missed the Russia game! 16 points THIRTEEN assists and 6 boards from Shved?! Amazing. AK47 shooting like 80%? Unreal. STOKED!

Here is my new irrational Shved comparison: Terrell Brandon with Euro flair and a better 3 point shot.

YES! We are becoming irrational homer fans like those drooling idiots from NY, Portland, Toronto and LA. I embrace this openly. Soon, Shved will be enough in a trade package for 'Brow. Then we're set.

Yeah, I guess my Kahn comment was about how he brought him over on a reasonable contract rather than overpaying.

I turned it on and saw this play where Kirilenko went HAM to the basket, got hit by like 2-3 Brits, hung in the air, and banked the shot from a tough angle for the +1. It was sweet. I'm not going to lie, when Shved dropped that pass between his legs I was like, wait what just happened? It was quick and all the sudden someone was diving to the basket with the ball. His pull up J was wet too. Kid can hoop.

On defense, I think it's tough to project much because they were mixing and matching the whole time running 2-1-2 zone trap, 2-3 half court and man to man half court. So I am not worried too much about his effort level. He did close out late a bunch but I didn't really see if that was circumstantial or if he was out of position. He got his hands on more balls than Octomom though. Him and Rubio will create a lot of steals next year.
