One of my favorite quotes from the game was that Goran Dragic growing up in Slovenia used to get up at 3 AM to watch NBA games!

I wonder if his brother Zoran only stayed up for the Euroleague games...

2. Guess the combined points by Michael Beasley and Wes Johnson  2 TPs for guessing, 1 for closest.

Can I argue that my ZERO guess was right on the mark? I know Beasley received 2 points in the books, but he put the ball through the hoop exactly ZERO times! Yes, it was one of Steamer's goal tends.

AK was awesome. 10 for 13 from the field. He missed a breakaway dunk with a player closing in on him, an alley oop at the rim and a shot in the lane in the fourth when he probably got fouled. Otherwise, just a bunch of dunks on the night.

I had to laugh early on in the first. He got the ball at the elbow, pivoted toward the basket like he was going to find a cutter for a nice pass, and then saw everyone else playing in non-AK mode and just standing in place!

Also, as good as the frontcourt was, they should have got an assists career high for Alexey. He had 10 when they brought up his high of 12 against OKC. Pek, Love, AK and thn D-Will all missed makeable shots off his passes...so he stayed at 10 for the game. I also had to laugh at how after the first two misses, he took it to the hole for a bucket and got a three himself. Forget Roy and OJ for a moment, where would we be without Shved right now?!

damnit I knew I should have picked Scola for the game challenge. I picked him and then changed it. Love really cannot guard anyone can he. What use is he to this team if every mediocre power forward in the league can easily drop 30 points on him?

Yes! During the game I called myself an idiot for picking Love instead of the guy Love was supposedly guarding!!

Ehh, seemed like Pek was on him just as often. Seemed like he abused the entire front court. I wasn't paying much attention, though. I was too busy watching Telfair and Beasley.

P.S. I'm done with the Target Center. The Houston game was trash. It's embarrassing how much fans suck. They don't do shit in MN but sit there and then get excited when the t-shirts get thrown (CW's pet peeve) or when Crunch comes around. And then to BOO Beasley?!?!?!? Fuckin tragedy. That dude doesn't deserve to get boo'ed. Let him suck in peace. He wanted to be in MN, he's just not good at basketball.

Scola is one crafty SOB. He thrives against guys who don't move their feet well. If it were not for our massively depleted backcourt, I would have said Cunningham was the guy to lock him down, except then you have the issue with Jared freaking Dudley who was ready to make like T-Mac against our JV wings (minus AK of course).

Word on the boos for Beas. That's weak sauce, dude was picked up for a 2nd rounder, played out his rookie contract and gave us a little bit of fun, then moved on. Let him suck in peace is right.

Effing Love and Pekovic. Both terrific players, but can you possibly play them both together for any measurable period of time against any team with a solid 1-2 scoring punch at the 4/5? I feel like they both need to be covered up, and if AK can't cover them up against a decent team, then you need to bring in a 3rd big so you can at least hide one of them at a time. Love, AK, and someone like Varejao or Noah would be sweet, even though nobody in the league is giving up a rotation-ready defensive big man for Derrick Williams and Ridnour, right? Larry Sanders? Biyombo? I don't get it.

Barea... If Ridnour was not on the team, how would we feel about hero ball once Rubio is back to being part of the core? It's definitely a love/hate thing for me. I am torn on whether Ridnour or Barea is the better backup.

I hear ya. The Target Center is a weird place. If you cheer or be loud in any way, everyone around you will give you dirty looks.

I'm on Team Barea all day. Ridnour is a decent guy, but he doesn't help you win, he's just sort of there. On the other hand, Barea has an equal mix of terrific games and bad games. As a backup, the bad games don't hurt as much because you can limit his minutes when he's playing poorly.

Hey C-Wolf, Did we ever post about the time you caught one of those free T's only to chuck it back onto the court? That was epic.

Hahahaha I had such a good throw back on to the court too, lol. One of my proudest moments!

I think I mentioned it in a front page article waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back on the first edition of TWolvesblog. Back when the site was super ghetto and looked nothing like it does now.

Hit Gollum or Glen and maybe then they'll realize it is time to come up with something different.

That sucks about Target Center crowds...and its not like it is half empty anymore, so it should be different.

Bill Simmons brags about the Golden State fans. Anyone ever been to a game out there?

I have ranted and raved about this to no end. This is a secret benefit to being an upper deck season ticket holder among the fellow vagrants. People who are enthused about the game sit up there while the corporate customers and prostitute jersey chasers with mushrooms growing on their lady parts sit below. This of course isn't a perfect correlation, there are plenty of loud folks downstairs, but if you get stuck next to a family down below or a set of high maintenance swamp donkeys in heels and a 10 lb pail of makeup on it sucks. I swear if you yell anything, most people tense up and become uncomfortable in their seats. Vs. the upper level you may find yourself hugging a stranger after a clutch play.

The Houston game, for being the 3rd highest attendance in TC history, felt like a 2009 Wolves game in terms of energy level.
