Next week begins another season of coaching for me
I coach the 8th grade A (A for absolutely awesome) traveling basketball team for Roseville. I have to go to a coach's clinic tonight though which I am a little perturbed about. I enjoy the learning, but I think I am forced to go for the \"sensitivity training\" portion of the clinic. Last year my co-coach/assistant likened me to Major Payne. Funny stuff...

I'm more of a Sloan/Riley coach. Don't care for the Nellie run n gun style. Any other coaches?

Hmmm...I think I'd liken our team more to Detroit. Except Our Sheed is a bit more of a 3-4 tweener and plays more like a wing.
I definitely am not a Flip though...I get hurt on the sidelines because I can't contain myself. My favorite thing to do is to make the other coach look like a complete a$$ because he is living out his childhood dream through these kids and is terribly regressive to their games. I am a psychological phenomenon!

Roseville!! Awesome!!! Is Coach Pierce still the Varsity guy over there? I remember my travelin' days...our coach was a lawyer and used to bore the crap out of us at practice with different options on each play. FlexA(1) Part S and so on...we did end up winning nearly half of our tournaments that year so it wasn't all bad

Congrats on getting 8th grade A traveling, they don't give those positions to just anyone...usually. I'm sure you're style helps get the kids to listen and stay motivated. I'm sure it's a lot of fun!! Just don't get beat by Moundsview, we hates them...and White Bear...and Stillwater.

I coached 5 grades in Sioux Falls and 4th grade down here in Austin. Right now I'm one of three coaches running a 4 weekend camp to prepare kids for Middle School tryouts.
