For the sake of discussion, let's say you were stuck on a deserted island and you only had FIVE movies with you. Which five would you pick?

P.S. No trilogies unless you want to use each of the three movies as a choice.

Here's mine. If you really think about it, it's tougher than you think:

- Shawshank Redemption
- Gladiator
- Pulp Fiction
- Fight Club
and...
- Castaway :P

(instead of Castaway, I'd probably pick a comedy... but there are so many I have no idea which one I'd take.)
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Godfather 1
Godfather 2
Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels
Snatch
Goal: The Movie (I couldn't live without some form of soccer to watch and every amateur soccer player wants to be Diego)

Guilty admission, I have never seen Shawshank...

WHAT?!?!?!?! :woohoo:

You must go see it ASAP! Seriously, it's one of the best movies of all time. Top 5, easily.

Never seen Shawshank??? That's like thinking McFail doesn't have ties with Boston.

Solid list. Old School would probably be my comedy choice. Shooter is a great movie and really underrated.

However, you are cheating with your Trilogy choice...

On a side note, how long do you think you'd have to be stuck on the island before you memorized every line from all 5 of your movies???

egads!

Damn CW, stop twisting my arm, I'm trying to get work done, I don't have time to post on your topic.

(30 seconds later)

OK, OK, wow, you're tough! You won this round, here's my list:

1. Diner (one of the best non violent ball-busting scenes of all time, Paul Reiser hassling Steve Gutenberg over a roast beef sandwich)

2. Godfather 2 - perfect movie, puts you in a different world.

3. Anchorman - Ferrel, Carrell, Rudd, and Koenig - as good as it gets ("Sky Rockets in Flight, Afternoon Delight"

4. Miller's Crossing, by local boys the Coen Brothers. Great dialogue that I only appreciated after repeated viewing

5. Boogie Nights - was so well done, but dark, made me question my original career choice of trying to succeed in the wonderful world of the adult film industry, chose the relatively less seedy world of sales

This will change daily and simply will be what comes to my head at the moment!

1. The Last Dragon (Hence my avatar. Most are unfamiliar with this comedy).
2. Gladiator.
3. The Dark Knight (too soon?)
4. Man on Fire.
5. MIB (favorite comedy)

I think it might be too soon for The Dark Knight. But to be honest, I also debated having it in my Top 5. It is that good of a movie.

I'm not much of a movie guy, so almost all of my fav's are comedies. My 5 for a deserted island would be:

Billy Madison
Dumb & Dumber
Fight Club
Friday

hmm...if I'm really deserted on an island, the 5th should probably be a movie with lots of good looking females in it. So whatever movie that would be would be my 5th.
