I picked up Get the Gringo on bluray at Best Buy for $5 because I wanted to see it. It's one of the better action movies that have come out in recent years. Mel is such a great actor. It's a shame that everyone hates him so much and this movie didn't even come out in theaters in the US because of that. If you liked Payback then you'll definitely like this movie, it's pretty much Payback 2. 8/10

Nice, thanks! I heard that was good and wanted to see it. I had no idea it was a sweet action movie though. I'll have to go get it... love that DVD for Blu Ray trade-in deal at Best Buy!

Finally saw Lawless, which is decent.

Tom Hardy is a super badass. That much is certain.

I watched The Town again. This time I watched the Extended Cut version on Blu Ray, which is like 30 minutes longer than the Theatrical Cut. All in all, it's a pretty solid movie all-around. Affleck sure has gotten a lot better since his early movies, that's for sure. And I like Jeremy Renner a lot too.

Saw Arnold in The Last Stand. It wasn't bad, and wasn't horrible or anything either. I've certainly seen much worse. Plus it was cheap movie Tuesday, so you can never go wrong there.

It was just a fun action movie. And it's good to see Arnold back! Overall maybe like a 6.5 or so out of 10, maybe a 7... depending on how much you love Arnold.

I watched this. Awesome movie, it's really good. Vintage Mel is back!

And yeah, it's like Payback 2. I'm fine with that though, because it was sweet. Too bad Mel is blacklisted in Hollywood (basically), and no one would distribute the movie in theatres... :(

Saw Zero Dark Thirty with Papa CW. It was a pretty good flick. All the actors were really good, and the subject matter was interesting and all that. I'd give it like a 7.5 or 8, out of 10.

Bullet to the Head was a solid enough action movie; a throw back to the good ol 80's action flicks. Didn't need a ton of plot, and I liked that they just moved it along to the new part/fight/scene. There were probably plot holes, but who cares, it's a Stallone action movie. I mean, it's what ya expect. Jason Momoa was a pretty good bad guy too.

Sly is the man, and easily makes the best action movies these days. Keep on keepin on.

Has anyone else seen Tron: Legacy? It was on FX last night and I had no intention of watching the whole thing but it hooked me. It's surprisingly good. Also the music by Daft Punk is amazing. Movie - 7/10 Music - 10/10

Haven't seen it, although I always did think it looked worth checking out. Might have to do that then.

Got the Die Hard 25th anniversary collection Blu Rays for cheap. The first Die Hard is so great, never gets old watching it. Just a classic action movie.

Die Hard 2 wasn't too bad. At least, it wasn't the super horrible movie that I had thought I remembered it being. It's the worst of the first 4 DH movies, but it's still a Die Hard movie. And John McClane rocks.

Die Hard 3 is awesome though. And it's funny too. Samuel L. Jackson is great alongside Bruce Willis in this. It's definitely my second favorite DH movie.

Despite the PG-13 rating, Die Hard 4 is still a decent overall movie. It doesn't get much love, but it's not bad. Has lots of action too, although there is a fair amount of somewhat cheesy CGI, which I'm not a big fan of at all. Overall, a decent addition to the DH franchise. It's definitely better than DH 2, which is the worst in the series.

I had pretty much no expectations for the new DH5, A Good Day to Die Hard, probably because most of the reviews and comments I've seen say the movie is just terrible. But I don't agree, as it wasn't that bad at all. The action was really good, and there was no crappy CGI at all until the very end. All in all, it was a solid action flick. Although, Jai Courtney is not exactly the best choice in the world to be McClane's son (Tom Hardy would have rocked!), and ol Bruce Willis is starting to look a bit old. But still, not a bad movie, and nowhere near as bad as a bunch of reviews and stuff I've seen.

I finally saw Argo. I would say it has become pretty overrated since it was released in the theatres, and there are obviously some liberties taken with the plot and historical events. But all in all, it was still a pretty solid and entertaining flick. I give it like a 7.5 or 8 out of 10. Definitely worth the time to at least rent, if you haven't seen it. I wouldn't call it the Best Picture of the year, but it's pretty good.

The problem is there wasn't any good movies released last year or in recent years in general. What should have won instead? The nominees were weak as hell, although I still haven't seen Django Unchained or Lincoln. I don't think a Tarantino movie would ever win best picture, because his movies don't appeal to stuffy old people.

I was actually thinking about that too. In my own opinion... I think Django was probably the best movie I've seen for the Oscars timeframe this year. That's probably what I would have picked.
