Just rented Little Miss Sunshine thanks to the recommendations of Bonk and Ryan. Gonna watch in a few minutes here. Will check back.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Me and my wife went to see Superbad the other week and it was awesome. Laughed all the way through it. Funniest movie to me since Billy Madison.

I was about to remake this topic myself.

Just got back from Shoot 'Em Up which was both ridiculous and ridiculously awesome all at the same time. The acting wasn't too great besides Clive Owen and Paul Giamatti but they take up most of the screen time (besides random people getting shot) so it isn't a big deal. Best movie action wise of the year in my opinion.

Hahaha, sorry to hear!

You'll have to weigh in when you see them. Btw, this thread isn't just for new movies... you can make a post about any movies you see and give some info for the rest of us.

It's like a communal movie help/opinion thread.

What a great night at the movies!

We went to Superbad, which is freakin hilarious!!! Hahahaha like Withers, we laughed pretty much the entire way through. Oh man, it was sooooooooooo funny. It's up there with Knocked Up for funniest movie of the year.

After that, I may or may not have paid my way into Shoot 'Em Up. What a pointlessly awesome movie! Who cares if the plot was ridiculous? I sure don't... The action was hella awesome though. Clive Owen is such a stud, I'm glad he was in the movie cuz he rocks so hard. In terms of Manlove, he's almost up there with Gomes... almost.

Yeah, Superbad was great. We also bought the Blades of Glory DVD and that was hilarious also. Will Ferrel is awesome.

Went and saw 3:10 to Yuma tonight. I'm not one that gets into the Western genre (I haven't even seen The Good, The Bad and The Ugly even though I mean to) but this film was really well made, very well acted and probably one of the better all around films of the year so far. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but probably won't buy it or even want to watch it again. In it's defense the only Westerns I've watched more than once were Tombstone and Shanghai Noon.

It was good huh? I thought it looked kinda cheesey, even though I like a good western every now and then. I'm more of a fan of the \"newer\" westerns than the old... but there are some good ones.

Went to The Kingdom today. It was pretty good. Rather than get into any political discussions or brewha, it was a good action movie (lots of action) and it was gripping until the very end. Definitely worth going.

Superbad = AWESOME!!!

The Heartbreak Kid: First half was legitimately funny...then the movie took a nosedive a la Shawn Kemp after the lockout season. I would recommend walking out as soon as Carlos Mencia delivers breakfast (plus sausage) to his sunburnt wife. Yeah, that's about right.

On a positive note, Rob Corddry was surprisingly good. He really contributed to the first half of the movie. Ben Stiller's dad was his usual self and Ben stiller himself played a familiar role, as a poor schmuck who's life slowly falls to pieces. Worth a rent-job if you're bored.

The wife had to work the overnight hospital shift tonight... perfect opportunity for me to go to a movie and then sneak (err... pay for?) a second one.

Anyhow, first I went to 30 Days of Night. I'm a fan of horror movies. While this didn't end up actually being very scary per se, it was still pretty good. A refreshing take on the vampire genre. I thought it was well done and exceeded my expectations. For the most part, the characters didn't do any of the typical \"stupid moves in scary movies\" type things, which was nice. If you like vampire and/or horror movies, it's worth going to.

Secondly, I may or may not have snuck into Rendition. Eh, this definitely wasn't that great. I certainly would not advise you pay full price to see it (unless you really, really want to for some reason.) I'm sure there is a decent movie in it somewhere, as it had potential. But it just dragged on too much and seemed like it could be construed as liberal propoganda. Shrug.

I've seen two movies since my last post in this thread: Mr. Brooks and American Gangster.

American Gangster is defintiely very awesome. I really liked it. It was just very well done from all angles. Also, Russell Crowe and Denzel are two of my top three favorite male actors, so it was a great combo. I won't spoil it by saying anything else here. It's worth seeing yourself.

Mr. Brooks was decent. Definitely worth a rental, or NetFlix. Some good pyschological stuff for sure. A good crime flick, I gotta recommend it as well, as it's better than a lot of stuff out there. If I had to choose one though, definitely go with AG.
