Anyone else watch Terra Nova? It was decent, but not great. It was massively epic in scale, that's for sure. And at least it was better than "Falling Skies" times infinity.

Might have some potential, I dunno. Could be cheesy though too. The previews for the rest of the season look a lot better than this first episode. At least the special effects and everything are a billion times better than Falling Skies were.

I just see the previews and immediately think:
1. Sci-Fi channel made for TV movie (not a bad thing I guess)
2. This will be cancelled midway through the season

I want to like it, but I can't knowing it won't last more than 8 episodes. That's 8 hours of my life I could have spent before bed watching basketball games from the mid 80's. No TV shows lasts these days other than singing and dancing shows and Bachelor, and now Bachelor spin-offs.

Good thing AMC has its head on straight.

When I see special effects being the thing that is marketed, I get very suspicious. I'd love a network to commit to another SciFi show, but as WW said I'll need to hear reviews saying it is written amazingly to buy in.

The main thing keeping me from it now is the seemingly preposterous idea of going back to the time of dinosaurs to rebuild. Gregg Easterbrook brought this up a week ago but it bares repeating that the dinosaurs became extinct and these morons went back BEHIND that event.

Regarding the "time travel"... and I'm not defending the show by any means, but here's how I understood it: It was more like a "time rift" where they went to an alternate reality (exactly like the premise behind Source Code.) Also, they couldn't control what time they went backwards, and didn't know where they were ending up. So that's how I could suspend my disbelief there.

The previews look better than the first episode. Has some mysterious stuff going on... looked kind of "Lost"-esque.

I was going to make a point to watch it then I just didn't care enough. The characters and story look kind of bland.

I liked it the first time when it was a cartoon and was called "Dino Riders." <<<AUTHOR'S NOTE: SECOND BEST FAN PAGE EVER (After Twolvesblog.com of course).

Then I liked it the second time when it starred Jeff Goldblum and was called "Jurassic Park." I enjoyed the novel written by Michael Crichton in an appropriately slightly greater degree.

I did not have a chance to like or dislike it when they released it as "Dinotopia," because the show was cancelled before I ever got a chance to revile watch it.

I likewise did not have a chance to see the greatest show ever with the best soundtrack ever, "Dinosaucers."

However, I am super glad I was too busy playing WOLF3D.EXE instead of watching THIS ABOMINATION.

So, that said, I am casually interested in "Terra Nova."

PS I put way too much effort into that last post. We need this lockout to end. NOW.

Thanks CW. It came from my childhood love of dinosaurs, combined with too much time, not enough basketball-related news, and some solid retro Youtube footage.

2 hour season finale tonight on Fox. Thank god, this terrible show is almost over.
