I wrote an article for DeROK.Net after watching The Lake House with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. I was so frustrated that I had to do some venting, which ended up being some major venting. Here's the article. I think it's pretty interesting if you're into stretching your mind a bit.

Pretty good writing...pretty good article...pretty good take on a film I chose to never see my entire life, after I had read one review in my favorite (intellectual, left winged) magazine, for exactly the reasons DeROK has explained perfectly.

HOWL for that!

Nothing annoys me more than forfeiting the logic to create some cheesy, corny plot turn that satisfied the broad audience, but leaves anyone with half a brain agahst and repelled by such evident defiance against the laws the essential seperator between human and animal.

I consider myself blessed that my girlfriend considers only that kind of movie a good one, were as many people / orks / vampires die by sword / bullet / strangulation as possible. That taste of film does not necesserarily improve the logic-level I am facing at movie night, but at least it leaves less disappointed since with those kind of films, my expectations are a little bit lower.

WOW... Derok that was a Great article! You are definitely a jack of all trades. Howl for sure!

I thoroughly enjoyed your review. I never had an inkling to watch that movie (and still don't), but your review was awesome. It wasn't too difficult for me to follow (since I've always been mildy intrigued by time travel) but I can understand how it would be difficult for some. That's too bad that a movie with actual potential turned out to have such a blatant disregard for scientific fact. Oh well, such is life in cinema I guess.

That ending sounds like complete balls... wow. What a copout way to end the movie. If it wouldn't have ended like that... man, maybe it would have garned some more positive reviews, as you said. I expected the movie to suck from the first time that I saw previews, and was surprised that it was actually decent for most of the movie.

Anyhow, great stuff and well done. :)
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Hahaha, agreed. Wow. I agree with CW. I have no desire to see this movie (or any chick-flick with Keanu), but you have managed to push me into negative desire to see this movie...if that's even possible. I guess one thing we've learned from The Lake House is ANYTHING is possible, so I stand by my statement. Negative desire.

Yeah, the only reason I had any desire to even watch it was that there was a 98% chance that I could find a way to rip it to shreds in a movie review. Good movies are hard to review, because coming from the angle of \"this was awesome\", \"this actor was incredible\" isn't very interesting. When you get a really bad movie with some glaring flaws, it always makes for a good article.

Yeah I saw it. Thankfully I can't remember it other than that the girl has cancer.

I was under the impression that every girls favorite movie was The Notebook.

On a lighter note here are some romantic comedies that aren't the worst things ever:

High Fidelity
Say Anything...(must anything with John Cusak really)
Woody Allen movies (70% are probably romantic comedies)
Love, Actually (surprisingly good)

I hated A Walk to Remember.

But, the movie Georgia Rule is possibly the worst movie ever. I literally sat there for 20 minutes after it ended trying to decide if it was even over.

Ah yes, you are correct. Not sure how I could forget that. They are both definitely 1a and 1b. Ugh. :S

Like in Holy Grail?? Or by \"it was even over\" do you mean your life because the movie was soooo awful.
