Yeah I was more wondering how they found the island in the first place.

I will say, the Richard Alpert flashback episode from last week was one of the best episodes in a long time.

I still enjoy Season 6 of Lost, but they definitely need to start answering more of the 'old' questions. I mean, we basically already understand everything about the premise of the island - unless there's some major twist. It's a holding cell for the smoke monster and Jacob for whatever reason was able to keep him there. The smoke monster can't leave until Jacob and all the candidates are dead or off the island. One of the remaining candidates needs to replace Jacob to keep the smoke monster at bay.

But I'd love to know more about Dharma, about Ben's role, the Ben/Widmore rivalry, the others, why women can't get pregnant on the island, what the whispers are, why the French woman's crew went crazy...

There's so many questions that were raised and they do seem to be dodging those questions. I'm personally hoping for a "special episode" prior to the finale where they just lay it all out there in plain english.

I'm not sure this is actually possible now since it appears that just Jacob can be replace and not the smoke monster. But I thought a really cool ending would be something where Kate dies in the last episode and then you have Jack taking Jacob's place and a very bitter Sawyer taking the smoke monster's place, and then it ends with the two of them sitting on the beach starting the whole Jacob/Smoke Monster dynamic over again. And you basically end it by having Sawyer tell Jack, "I'm gonna kill you one of these days" just like the smoke monster said. And then Jack repeating whatever Jacob responded to that with.

Yea that's pretty much the same thing pants was saying. That this season has just created new questions to answer and that they're ignoring the old ones that never got answered.

I have to say, that would be a very satisfying ending you came up with considering the direction they've gone! You probably shouldn't have said that, because now when the real ending isn't as good as that, I'm going to be pissed.

Agreed.

In response to WW on the Richard episode. The reason that episode kicked ass was that it answered the "What is up with Richard?" question we've had since early in the show's run.

Exactly. But I also liked it because it was entirely flashback. Just an out of the ordinary episode.

Yeah, I think that would be a pretty sick ending. Just the whole thousand-year cycle starting all over again. You simply can't end this show with a happy "everything gets tied up with a nice bow" type of ending. On the other hand, I really hope they don't go Sopranos on us with just a complete WTF moment either. The ending's got to be edgey, but appropriate.

Holy crap Sayid, Jin, Sun, and possibly Frank Lepidus all died in tonight's episode.

Has any other show ever killed off characters at such an amazing rate?

24? That's the only other show that's even close.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Sopranos and The Wire were also willing to kill characters but never anything like that episode of Lost.

Given that lost seems to be going to a last man standing final it isn't that shocking when main characters die.

Except for Ecko... I'm still shocked.

Mr. Eko was a complex awesome character. The dude that played him did a great job too. It never made sense to me why they killed him off, until I read recently somewhere that he wanted off the show for some reason or another. So they had to write him out of the show.

Jack is going to take over the island at the end. Or maybe that's too obvious, so something unexpected will happen at the end.

That is interesting about Eko asking to leave. They clearly forced his departure.

You must not have read page 2. It sounds like he wanted to leave to me. The producers wouldn't force out a character that was that popular.
Akinnuoye-Agbaje's active involvement in his character's development became both a blessing and a curse over the course of his first season. ''Adewale's process is complicated,'' says Cuse. ''He needs to discuss it, process it, and make it his own. That's harder to do on a television schedule, but it ultimately leads to great work.'' His time in Hawaii — which can (for better or worse) leave a person feeling distanced from the rest of the world — proved difficult for him. He had to move to Oahu, a place he'd never been, in about two weeks. He was afforded little of the prep time he relishes. And he struggled with his newfound visibility. ''I felt like I'd landed on the moon,'' he says. ''I'm very private, and I don't like public influence on what I'm doing.'' Mostly, though, he struggled with playing the same person every week. ''I'm primarily a movie actor because there's a lot more flexibility,'' he notes. ''I never like to get lazy, sitting in a character two or three years, him getting fat and having grandchildren. I like to hit and run.'' Toward the end of last season, he met with Cuse and Lindelof to discuss his future, and agreed to stick around for a few season 3 episodes. ''There was an ongoing dialogue [when he signed on] about what the longevity of the character would be,'' Lindelof explains. ''And we all decided the shocking and emotional death would be the best way to go.''

As Eko's end grew imminent, the actor's offscreen life became more trying: Both of his parents passed away over the summer (''I'd rather not even mention it, to be honest. It's still too fresh'').

No my writing was just unclear. I meant the way in which he left felt forced into the script, not he was forced off the show.

Ahh I see what you're saying. I agree that his death was definitely forced. It wasn't bad though considering they had to add it in.

Just watched the latest episode - AMAZING! I'm gonna be so sad when there's no more to look forward to.

Let's just say it got more than a little dusty in the room when Jin and Sun were sinking in the sub...

Also, I love the fact that "my" ending is still in play. With Kate shot, everything is in line for her to die off, leaving just Jack and Sawyer.

And Hurley... Wonder what they'll end up doing with him. Maybe the sole survivor who gets to go home? I can't imagine him getting killed off.
