I haven't watched this week's episode yet but I think it will be like The Mentalist. On the mentalist, each episode is a separate case but then every once in a while there is a "Red John" episode where they pick up the trail of the serial killer who killed the main guy's wife.

In Alcatraz, the episodes that tie together will be the ones where she is chasing her grandfather.

I'm a little sick of the new trend of 'formulaic/episodic' TV shows. Better stick to AMC I guess. People I guess are too attuned to reality TV to appreciate a serial drama. Too many options.

Yeah I saw Touch when they previewed it a few months back. I liked the pilot kind of. Ill check out a few more at least. I like Kiefer so the show has that going for it.
