Who really knows what will happen in this game? I'm so glad Boston has the home-court. As long as I see Powe on the court more than Sammy C, the C's should get the game one win.

Boston 98
LA 95

In Boston and I think they'll win game 1. Lakers probably take Game 2 if they lose this one.

Celtics 94
Lakers 90
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Lakers win. Kobe only gets 15 points but gets a triple-double with 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Every other Laker scores in double figures.

Lakers 90
Celtics 84

Since the theme I'm obviously supposed to follow is pure sarcasm, how about this:

Celtics 120
Lakers 94

About as likely as everyone on LA scoring in double figures.

The exact same situation is going to happen with Brent Barry in Spurs/Lakers Game 4 except this time it will be Kobe who gets fouled and they call it this time.

Kobe makes both free throws and the Lakers go on to win in OT.

Lakers 103
Celtics 99

What a game. With what happened with Pierce in the 3rd that became a must win for the C's.

KG had two monster dunks. Kobe's box score doesn't look bad and he had 2-3 sweet jumpers but he never went on one of his runs. I was waiting for it in the 4th but the Lakers offense just couldn't get in sync. too bad.

RIVERS - House is better than Cassell

AWESOME.

Co-players of the game = KG and PP

KG was amazing on many occasions.

Kobe blew.

Phil Jackson was amazingly outcoached by Doc. Will probably never happen again.

Cassell eats.

Great cast guys...
News Flash to me:
DeROK pronounced -Dare-ock .... it has been Dee-rock in my head all this time. Live and learn.

Additional note:
I mentioned that I wished KG was more hyped like Pierce after the Detroit series. Now I think it is a good one-two punch with Pierce's exuberance and KG burning inferno.

I too recently learned it was actually pronounced Dare-ock but for some reason I cannot actually pronounce it that way. Thus I have to knowingly pronounce Derok wrong for the rest of my existence.

As for the actual game:

- I am mightily relieved that the C's won this one, as I don't think they could come back from a loss in Game 1 to the Yankees of the NBA

- The momentum shifting moment of the game had to be in the 3rd quarter when the score was seesawing back and forth and PP hit those back-to-back 3's.

- In the 3 games that the C's and Lakers have played so far this year, the C's defense has held Kobe in check. But you have to believe he will have at least 1 or 2 of those games where he's unstoppable. It will be interesting to see if they can stop him from going off for 40.

- KG needs more rest. Great first half and I can't remember when it began but he missed 9 straight shots. He looked fatigued. But then it ended with that awesome putback dunk towards the end of the 4th.

- Sam Cassell is indeed The Mole.

Man, I was horrified at the lack of defense and questionable shot selection.

KG dropped 9-10 bricks straight. Both teams were very impatient, lacked organization, and played like a pride of lions fighting over the carcass of a fawn. Boston really needs a CENTER.

Overall though, I was delighted that the TIMBERWOLVES. . .whoops, I mean Celtics drew first blood.

FYCK. Stupid computer deleted my entire post. I was on that straight knowledgism.

From what I remember, I was talking about how you all are drinking haterade on Sam I Am. In the first half, he completely changed the Lakers defense. They had to pay him so much attention and at one point had to switch Kobe up on him. That paid dividends for the Celtics and kept them in the game. Yea, he sucks much of the time, but when he hits a game winner during this series you all will on his gorilla sack.

I can't pin point how, but Doc played KG differently as far as when he got rest. Doc needs to do something differently there. KG was winded.

He was obviously barely holding on in the fourth until the last few minutes when the game slowed down and he got a few timeouts in. If we all agree the Celtics need another competent big man, goodness the Lakers need about 3. If this is any indication, expect the 4-5 positions to be dominated by Boston. KG's first half wasn't him getting on an usual roll, it was him being completely unfazed by Gasolina's unthreatening defense. Sheed, McDyess, and Maxiell did a fine job of being aggressive and making KG stretch to get shots off. KG might as well be shooting over Farmar everytime. The Lakers had trouble handling PJ Brown, what happens when Perkins has his \"once every four-five games\" breakout of 10-15 boards? I really think Powe would give Phil Jackson fits because they have nobody other than Turiaf who really bangs. Am I missing something or are the Lakers really in trouble with the big men matchups? I love it B)

It is a bit troubling that Mr. Bryant just glides around having a subpar game in the finals. You've got to think he's going to tear shyt up on Sunday. I'm convinced Kobe turns it off and on much like The Daddy does with the lightswitch after succumbing to a swampdonkey at bar close. They had better decide to play some fycking pick and roll defense on Kobe and Gasolina/scrOdom. It sucked.

Rondo - Rondo'd em
Ray Ray = Jesus
KG - two slamups for CW's room, both in Gasolina's grill.
Pierce = the Truth, \"So cold chicken soup won't help.\" - Kanye
Pierce's injury = sissy. That was monkeyshyt.

JVG - hilarious and smart.
Mark Jackson - STFU

DaddyFatSax - Out this bytch till game 2.

Background story on the name and pronounciation...

So my actual name is Derek, which you probably already know. Anyway, way back in the day, like 1997, there was that game for Nintendo 64, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. I'm pretty good at drawing, so I made up my own little spin-off character, Derok: Dinosaur Hunter. That's really where the pronounciation came from. It's just Derek with an \"ok\" sound instead of \"ek\".

Then The Rock became big for the WWF. If you think about it, Derok and The Rock, sound pretty similar. I was a huge Rock fan, so then the whole \"Derok\" name really took off with my friends as a nickname.

When I started using it as an online name, I just changed around the capitilization because I think DeROK looks cooler than Derok. I never really thought about how that would look to people who hadn't heard the name out loud before. Usually last names with a \"De\" are pronounced \"duh\", or \"Dee\", not \"Dare or Der\".

So basically I just go with either one. However people want to say it is cool with me. Generally the people who knew me back in the day go with \"Dare-ok\" and people who have met me more recently all go with \"Dee-rok\" because of how it looks.
