An interesting read. I've watched a few of their games recently and their as a whole does some great things defensively. Remember early in his career and during his prime when he'd go crazy on D? I remember one game the look of complete and utter despair on C-Webb's face walking to a timeout. KG was dropping 40+ on him and killing him on D. I also remember when he used to switch onto Kobe and force him into some bad shots. Another game sticks out when he was doing the floor slap to Scottie Pippen.
I'm not sure I really have a point to this post, other than to reminisce. Nobody can bring the intensity to lock anyone down all the time. It's those five minute stretches that are really impressive. Even in a noticable decline the man put in yeoman's work against Shaqovich the other night, something I doubt we ever saw much of.
For a defensive coach and a fan of the game when the fundamentals are mastered, it's difficult watching this team much of the time. I become glued on individual players and rarely does anyone on our team EVER execute a series from offense to defense without losing focus fundamentally.
Grab one more ring KG before you bow out...
