An interesting read. I've watched a few of their games recently and their as a whole does some great things defensively. Remember early in his career and during his prime when he'd go crazy on D? I remember one game the look of complete and utter despair on C-Webb's face walking to a timeout. KG was dropping 40+ on him and killing him on D. I also remember when he used to switch onto Kobe and force him into some bad shots. Another game sticks out when he was doing the floor slap to Scottie Pippen.

I'm not sure I really have a point to this post, other than to reminisce. Nobody can bring the intensity to lock anyone down all the time. It's those five minute stretches that are really impressive. Even in a noticable decline the man put in yeoman's work against Shaqovich the other night, something I doubt we ever saw much of.

For a defensive coach and a fan of the game when the fundamentals are mastered, it's difficult watching this team much of the time. I become glued on individual players and rarely does anyone on our team EVER execute a series from offense to defense without losing focus fundamentally.

Grab one more ring KG before you bow out...

I hate to just say "I agree with you", because it gets Mmaland all worked up into a tizzy. But yes, a good reminiscent post. Also, I would like to say that I do appreciate it Daddy when you post links to discussions in the Celticsblog forums. So thanks again. I don't have time anymore to go around perusing the Celticsblog forums like I used to, but when you post a link I usually check out the convo. And of course, they are always worth my time.

I can also appreciate great defense. KG in his prime was amazingly fun and exciting to watch on the defensive end. I miss that a lot. I don't see us having anyone currently on our team that could get anywhere close to duplicating what KG could do. Then again, I guess KG is/was one of the best players of his generation. Maybe we were just lucky to see him as long as we did, I suppose.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I've been too busy scaring the girls off the forum to concern myself with your piggybacking.

In the first quarter of the BIG Dallas nationally televised game on Sunday they were playing close... then at about 15-17 the Celtics took their D up like 5 notches and the game was basically over.

Watching the leadup... all the slow motion film of KG was quite painful before that game. How long will we have to wait for a Wolves game like that. Unless you have a guy like LeBron who everyone wants to see you basically have to make a title run before you get Sunday afternoon games.

Like I said, I'm a fundamentals and defense guy. For some reason, watching my favorite teams score 110 pts isn't entertaining when the opposition is doing it as well. When is the last time a Wolves player shut anyone down? I see the Wolves going in the right direction, but I'd love to get a physically imposing player who can dominate in something other than scoring. I guess Love does it with rebounding...
