Anybody else watch the Lakers/Celtics or Spurs/Celtics? I've got thought on both games.

Lakers/C's: To me the Celtics looked terrible. You have to expect Odom to play well with Bynum out and they did not prepare well at all to stop Odom. The Big Three were all sloppy with the ball. Allen, despite making tough shots missed three or four wide open shots that would have made the game. If the Lakers would have shot better free throws the game would have gotten away in regulation. Then again, if KG and Pierce would have taken their heads out of their a$$es earlier they could have ended it.

Spurs/C's: The Celtics looked better than against LA. Scalabrine's brother Matt went crazy, a big part of how they won. KG was trying to play center field and it didn't work because Bonner played like Sabonis. KG and Duncan put on a show - they always do. Reminded me of the old Wolves. No matter how much KG does, Duncan ends up with the win. This time, it was simply a matter of the Spurs playing a great game. I would put a large sum of money on the Celtics over them in 7 games.

In the past 5 games I've seen from the Celtics, something hasn't clicked for them yet. Even during their two winning streaks they don't rotate on defense as well nor are they as crisp with the ball. As of now, I'm not sure they could beat the Cavs to meet the Lakers or Spurs (I'm assuming nobody else has a chance).

I'm watching the Lakers/Lebron's now. Ben Wallace shouldn't be playing much less starting...

DaDDy -

Loved the post. I wish I had more to add, but I was partying while watching the game on Thursday, and kept falling asleep during the game on Sunday, so I didn't bring my A game either time.

That Lakers game was a helluva game though. Definitely had a playoff atmosphere feel. I still think in a 7 game series KG will totally own Pau. If I was a Lakers fan I would feel less than confident about going to war with that softie as my #2 option, especially against the tough, physically imposing, & defensive-minded Celtics.

If KG hadn't fouled out, they wouldn't have lost. Big Baby took 3, I repeat 3 shots in OT. WWWWHHHHHHHHHYYYY?!?! And he had that dumb foul toward the end of the game 80 feet from the basket too. Powe >>>>> Big Baby. Why does Glen continually give BBaby more time than The Show. It disgruntles me, almost to the extent of Cassell's PT over House's PT at times last year. This needs to be fixed.

Are they not going to give Bill Walker any sort of real chance this year? They are missing Posey, that's for sure. Tony Allen can score in quick explosions off the bench, but that's about it. I think Doc labeling him as a defensive stopper at times is foolish hyperbole by now.

I think they need to sign a retiree or make some sort of small move in the next few weeks. They need a little more from their bench.

The Lakers - as long as Pau is their #2 option, Vujacic, Farmar, & Fisher continue to have overinflated senses of self and shoot a little too much, and Bynum is still playing is way back from injury - they are a very beatable team in a 7 game series to either the Spurs or the C's.

Wait, wait, wait.... I respectfully disagree with this. I just want to get this straight. The Lakers went into Boston, in the second game of a back-to-back situation, after losing their starting center (who was emerging as their real 2nd option, and won a game in Overtime against a team that owned them mentally last season.

After snapping Boston's 12 game winning streak, they went to Cleveland and completely DOMINATED the LeBrons in the 2nd half to snap their season long 23 game home winning streak. Not only were they able to win both games without Bynum, but they won in Cleveland while Bryant was obviously slowed by the flu.

You can say what you want about the Lakers-- but right now, I'd have a hard time believing that the Lakers wouldn't be favored in ANY 7 game series. All of this could change by the end of the season, but ya gotta give them a little more respect...

I hate the Lakers, and even I will admit they are clearly the "Team to beat" right now.

I'd put them #1 overall. And that's without Bynum!
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

That was the regular season. Like I said - 7 game series, I like the Celtics & the Spurs more. But that's just me. And I would not be surprised if I'm in the minority on this.
