The Daddy has done some browsing on some other boards and listened to a few broadcasters (Jim Peterson) and it's been astonishing how quickly KG went from their favorite player to a soft PF who sometimes shows up and isn't a leader.

Jim Peterson made the assertion that Jefferson is right now at least 80% of KG's output and that he's so much more of a big man as opposed to KG who didn't check anyone. WOW. We can debate the 80% comment (I don't think it's even remotely that close yet) but did he mean KG doesn't defend down low? Okay, yea. Peterson wasn't referring to his inability to draw fouls but rather his defense - A horrendous assertion at best.

On Tea-BagCentral.com people are saying things that imply the \"good riddance\" attitude. The very same people who praised him for 10 years. Wow. Turncoats. Someone made a comment that read more or less like the following: \"Great effort from the Wolves. I flipped to the Boston game and saw KG throw up a turn around fade away like usual. Way to step up in the clutch. Ugh...thank god we've moved on.\" I laugh at such idiocy. The man scored 10 points in overtime you dumba$$.

I get the fact that now we have a young team we can build and in 4 years we might be good (See my old post about that fallacy), but why bash KG for it? Wish him well, support him, support your new team and get a life. I'm sure KG doesn't say, \"Shyt, that MarkD always spills my garbage on trash day. I'm sure glad StretchArmstrong took over trash duties this week.\" There is too much going on in life to think so stupidly (That had little to do with anything, I just felt like taking a shot at you know who). Wish the man well and throw down a High Life.

Hahaha that post was awesome, yet so true. I hope those fools read it. You know who you are if you are lurking. Howl for you Daddy.

Anyhow, I completely agree with you. I like our new team and the new youngsters, but does that mean I'll start bashing KG and pretending like he's a slouch? H ell no! What a complete joke. KG has forgotten more basketball than Big AL has displayed as of yet in his young career. Ok, maybe that's taking it a little too far, but you get my point. Jefferson 80% of KG? Ughhhhh no. *Maybe* on the offensive end, but his man and team defense still leaves a lot to be desired. Jim Pete eats.

Great post and good riddance.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I am sure I represent the opinion of the vast vast majority of T-Wolves fans in wishing KG the best and thanks for all the many great moments we were privileged to see when he played here. I can't understand why so many bloggers, broadcasters, talking heads, etc. feel the need to put someone down when praising someone else. It seems to be a symptom of our time. I sure hope that KG doesn't feel the same out MN fans.

I don't understand how one man can be your whole team for a decade and you turn on him the second he is gone. KG was a victim of circumstance in Minny. Yes he signed that contract that tied the teams hands but he dealt with players turning their backs on him (Starbury, Wally, Cassell, Spree). he dealt with the loss of draft picks due to the Joe Smith scandal. He dealt with the loss of one of his best friends on team and felt partially to blame because it was his birthday celebration.

People say he wasn't aggressive? That man was a beast on the defensive end and taking it hard to the hole on offense just wasn't his game. If anyone wants to talk about how he couldn't take the last shot I still believe he is a victim of circumstance... I've noticed that many of the guys drafted right out of High school have a harder time taking the game winner. You know why? They dominated in HS and never had to take that shot because they put their team up by double digits and never looked back. People learn to take that shot and build their confidence in College. The Wolves are my team, but KG is my player. Everyone in the state should put up a shrine in their home for the man. KG was the difference between a Wolves team that made the playoffs and a perennial outsider like the Warriors (of old), The Bucks, The Clippers and The Hawks.

Yeah, ragging on KG now that he's gone is just a classless, spineless, disloyal move. KG meant EVERYTHING to this team for 12 seasons. He's a big reason why this franchise is still in Minnesota. To start trashingh him is just pathetic. Garnett was nothing but loyal to us fans and didn't even want to be traded despite how awful our situation was. If he had one fault, it was that he was perhaps TOO loyal.

Think back to when he broke down crying over how our team had performed back in 04-05. What pro-athlete does that? Who cares that much? The man is one in a million and I'm thankful for every day I got to watch him in our uniform.

Now that he's gone, I now have two rooting interests. The Wolves as a team, and Garnett as a player. I want the best for both of them and see no reason why they have to be mutually exclusive. Anyone who automatically goes into KG-hating mode now that he's gone is just immature, childish, and incapable of seeing things as other than \"black and white\". They also aren't true Wolves fans, that's for sure.

I have often stated that I don't disdain anything as much as people who don't stand up to their words. One might figure out that he was mistaken and it is a true display of greatness to admit that, but claiming you never even said that, changing your opinions like (hopefully) your underwear, raising your flag into the wind, no matter where it blows from are some of the most disgusting aspects of the human soul.

But sadly, many people lack such the nescessary backbone to stand up to their opinions, their mistakes* and especially their feelings. As much as the \"fandom\" of many is just determined by whatever team has the biggest chance to win, I have also learned than it is a pathetic, yet human reaction to defame what you have lost in a desperate try to fool yourself into the belief that whatever was lost is simply not worth grieving about it.

I am far from trying to excuse or play down those lowly souls who are now pretending they never had any love for KG - because even in defeat and in loss, one should always stand proud - but I guess it might at least explain the reaction of some people who are now ripping KG. It hurt many hearts that he finally was dealt after so many years being the face of this franchise and although most of us understand that this was an overdue move to the benfit of both the franchise and KG, I think that some people are now trying to convince themselves by those ungrateful comments that they did not loose anything important.

* I'm not implying that being a fan of KG was a mistake. He will ever be my favorite player. I am just generalizing things for a broader approach on that topic.

ALL WONDERFULLY ARTICULATED POSTS MY DEAR FRIENDS!

Even if you advocated for a KG trade, it wasn't because you didn't like him, it was because of the futility of our franchise and the chance to just start over.

Now I am not convinced it will work, but I for one will not start to bash Jefferson as soon as he shows that he's not KG and that we continue to lose two years from now. Jefferson and co. are a totally separate entity now from KG and co. Let's leave it at that.

On a side note, if much of the covert banter is flying over you new posters head, it's because of a drama filled fiasco with www.CIRCLE-JERKCentral.com, a site ran by Tom Thundstrom, a midget hermy who hates the Daddy because he joined conversations with CW and Bonk (the prohibited duo).

Trashing traded players is Sports 101, unfortunately. As a Celtics fan, I'm so absolutely thrilled with KG that I can certainly understand how Wolves fans could feel a great loss or have bitterness toward KG, but to criticize his game is the height of stupidity.

We've seen in five games what KG can do when surrounded by Top 25 players and long time all stars like Pierce and Ray Allen. With all due resect to one time all stars like Cassell and Wally Szuckbiak, and 4 time all star and 100+ time knucklehead Sprewell, KG was surrounded by marginal players at best in Minnesota for most of his career.

KG totally dominated the game on both ends of the floor for every second he is on the court here in Boston. His presense on the defensive end makes every one of his teammates better defenders, and that's why the Cs are a top defensive team already. Offensively, he creates room for everyone else to play against single teams, and that is why Paul Pierce (48%) and Ray Allen (58%) are hitting shots at a career high percentage this season.

Right now, KG is the best player in the NBA, and a favorite for both MVP and Defensive POY. He's averaging 22.6 ppg on 57% shooting, 15.8rpg, and 6 assists on the undefeated Celtics, and it looks to me like he can have that kind of productivity every game. If anyone can come up with some valid criticism of KG, please let me know.

No one that truly knows anything about basketball could come up with anything about KG. Those \"fans\" are jokes and I can't even stand reading their dribble.

Enjoy KG, you will love watching him play. I don't know how many other threads I've said this same thing, but he's one of the most amazing people in the game in basketball. He will give his all each and every game, you really couldn't ask for more. As the Celtics have been my second favorite team for years now, I'm glad he got traded to Boston. I honestly hope you guys succeed with KG at the helm. I enjoy watching the Celtics games, even moreso now with KG.

I predicted KG as my pre-season MVP and I also think that's looking pretty good. It's no shock that he can play like this when he actually has some freakin help on his team.

Hmmm....There are always things every player could do better, but then again, there so many things I couldn't imagine KG doing any more perfect. We are all pulling for him to win the MVP award. Now he's just won the Eastern Conference Player of the Week Award...On that note let's see how the Wolves are doing.... 0 - 5, worst defensive team in the league, GREAT.

I'm so ecstatic for Garnett. He looks like he's got a second lease on life, which he does. What's even better is that a title for the C's is not out of the question this year. I thought it would take at least one more year to get the roster settled. It's early, I know, but I couldn't be happier for the guy. I hope he dominates everyone and has a career year.
