I love Avery Bradley at #19 for the Celtics. Awesome pick.

Perfect place for Bradley. He would have been lost on a bad team where he needed to start or be counted on for offense.

Exactly. So they aren't bringing back Nate Robinson? Some team will probably overpay Nate in free agency, since sooooo many teams have so much cap space.

They should bring back Nate anyways. Avery won't really be ready for the KG/Paul Pierce run, not to do what Nate did.

Depends on how much money Nate wants, I guess.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I love KG and all but the wear and tear on his body is adding up. (as the NBA playoffs proved) Paul Pierce is a Beast but old KG just isn't cutting it anymore. While playing Orlando if Perkins had got hurt that series the Celtics aren't in the finals. KG or Baby are not guarding Howard or Gortat for that matter in the post. He stayed on Lewis 90% of the time cause he's fragile these days. He had what one good game against Gasol but other than that he or Odum were doing whatever they wanted against him. Don't get me wrong I still think KG is good but just a role player at best these days. Once and awhile he'll put up 20 and 10 but then again so did Gomes. Paul Pierce and Rondo would really have to carry them if they ever want to make a run at the finals again.

Especially since the Eastern Conference is going to only be better next year( Free Agency and high draft selections ) I just don't see the Celtics making another run at the finals!

You are mostly correct. I agree KG is nowhere near the player he was two short years ago, but I don't think he's as bad as you are making out. Plus his defense is still pretty good, and he's an emotional leader. It just really sucks for the Celtics that they have him for 2 more years and $40 million total. OUCH. That's one of the worst contracts in the league, I hate to say. :(

They will be solid with PP, KG, Perk, and Rondo next year... but no chance at the NBA Finals, that's for sure.

If the Celtics don't do something drastic they have no chance this year. Avery Bradley is a nice start, but they need a youngish (30 yrs old or less) near all star caliber player. I think KG has a year of great play left in him, but I think we're seeing the decline of Ray Allen and the decline of Paul Pierce. Pierce's decline will be swift and brutal.

I love KG like you said he's a very emotional leader! It was just hard to watch KG play badly(never really watch the Celtics except of course during playoffs) I grew accustomed to watching KG dominate here in Minny. He was far from that this year. He doesn't look to drive at all anymore(always drove me nuts). Always pass pass pass or a 15 to 20 foot jumpshot... I just don't get it...So I came up with he's basically afraid of contact, which makes any player let alone a defensive minded big play poorly. He never was designed as a player to last 15 years in the league living down low in the post(most didn't think he'd make it through one NBA season when he came out). It's sad to see cause a few years ago KG would've dominated these finals. Also I'd still love to take him for a season so he can retire a Wolve!

Agreed.

If he opts out of the $21 million remaining on his deal this season, the Celtics would be insane to give him a new max extension for 3 years or whatever (like what Kobe got from the Lakers.)

Doc Rivers is coming back, and with a raise.

Too bad I don't see the Celtics making another Finals anytime soon, nor even another ECF.

:(

Goes to show what you know. Rivers worked it out with Stern so the Celtics only have to play the last 20 games of the season so they are fresh for the playoffs. I smell finals again...

Yeah, well you and many other people said the exact same thing last year, even as recently as 2 months ago, and they were 6 minutes and quite possibly a KPerk injury away from winning the whole damn thing.

Yeah, but that was before the great Free Agentpolooza of 2010. And if they lose Ray Allen AND/OR PP? Granted, I think PP stays for sure... but still.
