During the 1997-98 NBA season, the Timberwolves and Garnett agreed on a six-year contract extension that was worth an unparalleled $126 million.[3] This was met with shock around the NBA, and the Timberwolves were used as scapegoats for the lockout that occurred the next season. The contract was a risky move and many pundits speculated that the deal would make it impossible for the Wolves to sign new players or even keep their own...

I guess KG did revolutionize the game...handcuffing his team so they could not make any real significant moves...
Also, I find it funny that the Celtics are 5-2 when KG is out of the lineup (Which the beat the Spurs yesterday...) and the Cavs are 0-6 without LeBron in the line-up...who is the real MVP...not KG that is for sure
Sigh.
That contract was signed directly before the CBA was changed, hence the reason it affected our salary cap situation so drastically. Again, not KG's fault.
Have you seen the Cavs roster? They blow. I know they made it to the Finals blah blah blah but it was in the weak East and Lebron gets every call under the sun from the refs. Last time I checked the Celtics still have two potential Hall of Famers in their lineup other than KG... the Cavs have nothing close, hence the reason they were 0-6 compared to 5-2 for the Celtics.
That is a new excuse...I must give you props for that...
So...to some up your point...KG should get at least to the finals this year because they are in the crappy East AND the fact that he along with a future Hall of Famer (I am not sure who...I suppose Ray Allen) are on his roster...and if the Celtics don't what excuses are you going to give them...that they don't get the same calls as Lebron???
And yes I have seen the Cavs roster, which makes my point about KG even stronger...No matter what conference you are in, if you have a team like the Cavs and make it to the NBA finals, that my friend is very impressive...Sure they got swept, but LeBron has done more in his short career than KG has in his long career...LeBron is a beast...he is one of just a very few who can truly take a team on his back and carry them to pay dirt...KG unfortunatly is not on that short list...
All I am asking is that the Celtics make the Eastern Conference finals...which I don't think they will...
