Attention World:

Kevin Garnett = G.O.A.T.
Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

Garnett owned K. Love on Friday, and C. Bosh on Sunday. Both were crucial matchups in the game, both KG clearly won, and both times the Celtics crushed the opposition.

Too bad Garnett's all-star streak ended because he started the season weak. I've got to think that if all-star teams were selected today he would be on over Bosh or others. I wonder if there is any chance he can get on the All-NBA 3rd team.

Bonk, you hitting it on the head my man.

You read articles like this and you start to remember just what the man has done. From about 2000 to 2012, he's had two seasons where he was not dominant - because of knee injuries. Those injuries clearly robbed him of two more rings. He's 37 (I think?) and still playing at an all-star level. He can't sustain it for 40 minutes anymore, and we'll see if he has anything left come playoff time, but as of this point, he's playing at an elite level for 25-ish minutes a game.

Unfortunately for us, the world of statistics can't yet capture the essence of Kevin Garnett, of Tim Duncan, of Hakeem Olajuwon, of Ben Wallace, of Wesley Johnson, of Dennis Rodman, of the Glove, of Scottie, or even of the myth Jordan himself.

For every awesome two way player like Scottie, these videos abound:

Here's a little lesson for those of you who may have never played the game. With players like that on your team, you get inspired. You see Scottie everywhere on D. You see KG everywhere on D. You hear KG screaming. He teaches you as a teammate. He pushes you in practice. You become better on both ends of the court.

That's what the Wolves lost when Rubio went down. He pours it out on defense and makes everyone better on BOTH ends of the court. KG MADE the careers of garbage scrubs like Hassell, T-Hud, etc. Wally isn't an all star without him. He brought together below average and average players to the point where the clicked on both ends of the court to the tune of 50+ wins every year.

Players that produce in easily quantifiable ways always look good with our advanced ways of measuring them. I don't know that there is a way to measure what players like KG, the rest of that list, and others do on and off the court.

I'm hoping Rubio is that transformational player for the culture of the team.

Oh, and let my man Kevin Love be Kevin Love. he ain't Kevin Garnett.

You totally beat me to it. I was just going to say that watching those Scottie highlights, out of everyone on the Wolves, the player who most reminds me of him (in a weird way) is Rubio. Although imabouttagoall Celtics Pride on Wes Johnson and chain him down with a continuous loop of that highlights series playing into his unblinking eyes (we'll prop em up with toothpicks).

About 5 months of non-stop brainwashing with Scottie Pippen defensive highlights ought to make him into a serviceable player.

Crazy thing is Pippen and Wes have similar builds.

All time all around team:

Olajuwon
Garnett
Pippen
Jordan
hmmm... Kidd? Magic? I know I am missing someone here.

3 best defensive players in history, probably right there.

No doubt, the all time, all around, two-way team. Any coincidence all those players except Jordan and Magic are in my top ten favorite players of all time? And I would argue Jordan as easily the best because of that two-way reason.

Except Magic, while being super versatile, wasn't a stellar defender. So put Kidd in there.

Never mention Wesley in the same sentence as. Scottie Pippen...see what I did? Not in the same sentence...

Epic. Old man is doing work and taking names.

I can't believe how awesome he has been offensively and defensively this year. Never saw it coming. But he has certainly stepped his game up when they needed it most.

My guess is Rashard Lewis' old stash of roids.
