I'm sure some people will look at this as Sammy C, who sabotaged our team, getting a free pass to team up with KG again and play the way he should have played for us. This very well may taint KG's championship for many around here if the Celtics do pull it off.
However, I'm looking at it as the 2nd chance to see the thing I'm most sorry I never got to see - KG and Sam teaming up for a title. I know Sam and Spree weren't model citizens here, but in my opinion, Sprewell was much, much more of a culprit than Sam ever was.
Cassell told managment not to worry about his contract since he had another year left and to get Spree's done first. It was Sprewell who made a big stink over a generous 21 million dollar deal. Sammy C's play did decline that season, but I think a big part of that was him recovering from the hip injury he sustained in the 04 playoffs. I'm not trying to give him a free pass by any means, but I do think Sprewell was the one who sabotaged. I think Cassell was slightly disgruntled and was hurt. Had we not traded him and tried to work out a contract, I think he would've eventually shaped up.
It just does not seem right that KG and Sam I am team up on another team...they should be here in MN...I don't get all of the rah rah fan fare for the Celtics all of a sudden...I bet the majority of the people on this board were not even Celtics fans last year...and now all of a sudden many of you probably have gotten a clover or leprechan tatooed on your body...
