Wow, just what they needed... a backup PG and a backup big man. They got BOTH in Sammy and PJ Brown. Eastern Conference favorites for sure now.

Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

I'm very happy that this whole thing happened.

I'm sure some people will look at this as Sammy C, who sabotaged our team, getting a free pass to team up with KG again and play the way he should have played for us. This very well may taint KG's championship for many around here if the Celtics do pull it off.

However, I'm looking at it as the 2nd chance to see the thing I'm most sorry I never got to see - KG and Sam teaming up for a title. I know Sam and Spree weren't model citizens here, but in my opinion, Sprewell was much, much more of a culprit than Sam ever was.

Cassell told managment not to worry about his contract since he had another year left and to get Spree's done first. It was Sprewell who made a big stink over a generous 21 million dollar deal. Sammy C's play did decline that season, but I think a big part of that was him recovering from the hip injury he sustained in the 04 playoffs. I'm not trying to give him a free pass by any means, but I do think Sprewell was the one who sabotaged. I think Cassell was slightly disgruntled and was hurt. Had we not traded him and tried to work out a contract, I think he would've eventually shaped up.

If the Celtics win a title, I'm not gonna hold signing these vets against them or anything like that either.

*IF* they eventually do win it, they deserve nothing but congratulations because there are some pretty damn good teams in the West.

I still think it will be the Spurs over the Celtics or Pistons.

I'm sort of feel'n the Lakers. Kobe is next to unstoppable and he has a team around him. I don't like it, but they're my pick.

Here's the thing about the Spurs. Are you gonna rely on Udoka to give you quality minutes? I don't know know if he's any good. If he is, they are in good shape because I just don't think Bowen provides nearly as much as he used to. Finley is a spark plug by shooting 5 - 14 every game. I am in the minority but I think the supporting cast is much weaker than people think. If they win it will be Manu, Duncan, Parker, and one other player playing out of their minds.

Those three don't need to play out of their minds... they are still one of the best trio's in the league, imo.

Come on daddy...why the hate towards the Spurs...

They are a quality team that gets in done every night they step on the court...They are the true definition of a Champion!

It just does not seem right that KG and Sam I am team up on another team...they should be here in MN...I don't get all of the rah rah fan fare for the Celtics all of a sudden...I bet the majority of the people on this board were not even Celtics fans last year...and now all of a sudden many of you probably have gotten a clover or leprechan tatooed on your body...

Prob the Lakers. It pisses me off that Kobe is NOW the frontrunner for MVP now that he has the best supporting cast in the NBA. Maybe he will win it this year (should be Lebron) but he should have easily won at least one MVP before this year. I hate how you have to have a good team around you to get consideration for an MVP.
