Luckily only one Wolf made the team!

Woohoo we are improving our roster! Ok, end sarcasm.

Question: "Hey Antoine Walker, why do you shoot so many 3's?"

Answer: "Because there are no 4's."

This is a great sign. If there was a top 20 list, we would have a few more such as Blount and Jaric. Good find CW, very interesting.

And this one is Theo Ratliff! Quite a relief that it is none of our active players, but the corpse thy brought in for cap relief next year!

EDIT: MWithers was faster than me, dang ;) ! And he is completely right with that concerns about a Top 20 List.

But thanks for the link anyways, CW!

Oh yeah, those two could very possibly be on there if it were a Top 20 list. And THud (if we hadn't bought him out.)

So yeah, just Ratliff's Corpse ain't so bad. Especially considering we didn't actually give him that deal, he just got brought in as cap relief.

Could be worse.

Sad part is that people thought the deal for Howard hurt us. Even after Howard's trade request, I think it was a great deal.

Agreed. I'd do that trade 10 times in a row. It definitely helped us, especially now that KG has been traded etc...

@ Mike James Trade
And the fun thing is, I definitely believe that this deal might also help Houston as well. I think Mike James is just totally NOT starting material, and the responsibility of leading a team on the floor is just to much for him. He flourishes in situations where noting is expected from him, and being the second or third scoring option from the bench, I truly believe he can help Houston spreading the floor for Yao and T-Mac.

Maybe they are a little crowded at guard now as well, with Wells, Stevie Franchise, James, Skip-to-my-Lue and some additional bodies from the bench, but with a big questionmark behind most of those names, it can't hurt having some alternatives. And they will get a proven, solid if not good (or better) PF with Luis Scola to make up for the loss of Howard.

Smart deal for both teams, I'd say (feels weird saying that in connection with the Wolves, doesn't it ;) ? )

Problem for Houston is that James has a longer contract than Howard and it is too high and too long to be used as a backup to two other guys (if 'Skip-to-my-Cell' isn't in prison). Howard has a player option after this season and I believe that he will leave if he isn't traded before then. Like I had stated though, I do agree that it was great from the Wolves stand point.

Actually, I somehow never expect celebrities of any kind to serve time in prison, so I believe Alston to be around for Houston once the season starts. When it comes to Howard, I also believe him to be gone after the season at the latest. But it remains a good trade for the Wolves anyways, but even if his veteran presence would be missed, he would at least find many suitors on the trade market and even bring back some value. Something that can't be said of many of the Wolves players...
