somebody fill me in.... i saw on the ticker at a bar that Nate, G-Force, and S. Brown are in with a dunkoff for the 4th. do we know who's in the dunk off? I moved to florida and don't have cable or internet yet - im so out of the basketball loop! let me know. and y did lebron back out? and something about shaq challenging people to join it?

The dunk off is between DeMar DeRozan and Eric Gordon, and will be held at halftime of the rookie-sophomore game.

Not sure why LeBron backed out, and didn't hear the Shaq challenge either...

The dunk contest is going to suck this year...

I was thinking about taking a vacation down to Dallas to see Bron Bron in the dunk contest and taking in the All-Star Weekend festivities in Jerry World. I was so excited about the once-in-a-lifetime experience. To see LeBron in the dunk contest would be insane. Think of all the electricity around that event.

Then I learned LBJ backed out and I was totally bummed. I have no interest in going now. But in all seriousness, I probably wouldn't have gone anyways. I've got college loans to pay off for goodness sake.

And what the heck is Eric Gordon doing in the dunk off? Do any of these guys have any creativity? I can't imagine they do. Corey Brewer might as well be in this thing.

Looks like Shaq has a good idea. Except replace Vince and Kobe with Dwight Howard and D-Wade. Unfortunately, I think Vince and Kobe are past their dunking prime.

I think the Eastern Conference and Western Conference should each have two contestants in the dunk contest. Then the winning contestant's conference will have home court advantage in the NBA Finals. I bet all the superstars would be in it then.
